Idea for a new story event

I have an idea for a new story event and I would like to see if there's any interest? The story event would be called:

By coincidence I've been thinking of a remake of one of its episodes. I did try it once as a script but this time I'd go for prose.

Oh gosh, I already have an exhibitionist story series set in a hotel that's halfway done. I couldn't in good conscience start a new hotel story without getting the old one wrapped up, and I've delayed for two years in doing that!

I don't think it's a bad idea,but I'm feeling a little full of the "story event" thing. I think we have three of them pending now. I don't know if they do us any good, but that ship is still out.

As these things go, I find writer challenges to be more interesting. Instead of picking a general topic, specify conditions that are somehow challenging to write.

Story Events are really author challenges because uninitiated readers won't notice. Not that they're *bad*, only differently-rewarding than contests. Meanwhile, I've suggested something like the OP's plotline, with stories told by a hotel bed or pillow or mirror. Hot tubs could tell tales, too. (Don't let casino furniture talk -- horrible sanitation.)

You ought to bring it back up again when there are not so many challenges already underway.

I think it could be an interesting challenge. And agree maybe bring it up in a month or so when there aren't other challenges going on.

And I still think a pet challenge could be fun Someone suggested that a while back.

I think it's an interesting idea with a lot of promise. As others have suggested, the contest and event calendar already is rather full. I can't keep up with it already, let alone take on something new. In April and May we already have the job event, the one-night event, and the geek event. I'd signed up for all three, but I'll be lucky if I can submit to two of them.
