I'm curious. What's an astronomy fact we didn't know until the seventies that's in the Bible?

Well first of all until the invention of the Rocket in the 20th Century we didn't know that the earth hangs in outer space. But it's in the Bible that it hangs on nothing:

Job 26:7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.

The earth is round:

It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Now, as to the one that we didn't know until the 1970s it's this one:

Job 38:31 Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

In the night sky and with technology prior to 1970, we have discovered that the stars of Pleiades are held together by gravity and the stars of Orion are not because they are so far away from each other, hence the drifting away from each other. Here is an article on it:

What is “loose the bands of Orion” supposed to mean? There’s no such thing as Orion, you know.

I suggest a better source of astronomy information.

1. We've been able to conceive of Earth in space for as long as we've conceived of Earth in relation to other celestial bodies - that is, for several thousands of years, and independently of rocketry. The notion that we didn't understand the Earth "hangs in space" before rocketry is bizarre.

2. Similar for a spherical Earth. Conceiving of Earth as a spherical body goes back thousands of years. (See: Pythagoras and Aristotle.)

3. The Pleiades have been characterized as a star cluster since the eighteenth century. I have no information about the Orion constellation in particular, but constellations have been known to be gravitationally unbound for hundreds of years. The notion that the Pleiades wouldn't have been understood as an open star cluster until the 70's is similarly bizarre.

The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End Times:

Matthew 24:1

1Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2“Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”
Isaiah 7:1 When Ahaz son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, was king of Judah, King Rezin of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel marched up to fight against Jerusalem, but they could not overpower it.

2 Now the house of David was told, “Aram has allied itself with[a] Ephraim”; so the hearts of Ahaz and his people were shaken, as the trees of the forest are shaken by the wind.

3 Then the Lord said to Isaiah, “Go out, you and your son Shear-Jashub, to meet Ahaz at the end of the aqueduct of the Upper Pool, on the road to the Launderer’s Field. 4 Say to him, ‘Be careful, keep calm and don’t be afraid. Do not lose heart because of these two smoldering stubs of firewood—because of the fierce anger of Rezin and Aram and of the son of Remaliah. 5 Aram, Ephraim and Remaliah’s son have plotted your ruin, saying, 6 “Let us invade Judah; let us tear it apart and divide it among ourselves, and make the son of Tabeel king over it.” 7 Yet this is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“‘It will not take place,
it will not happen,
8
for the head of Aram is Damascus,
and the head of Damascus is only Rezin.
Within sixty-five years
Ephraim will be too shattered to be a people.
9
The head of Ephraim is Samaria,
and the head of Samaria is only Remaliah’s son.
If you do not stand firm in your faith,
you will not stand at all.’”

10 Again the Lord spoke to Ahaz, 11 “Ask the Lord your God for a sign, whether in the deepest depths or in the highest heights.”

12 But Ahaz said, “I will not ask; I will not put the Lord to the test.”

13 Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you[c] a sign: The virgin[d] will conceive and give birth to a son, and[e] will call him Immanuel.[f] 15 He will be eating curds and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, 16 for before the boy knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, the land of the two kings you dread will be laid waste. 17 The Lord will bring on you and on your people and on the house of your father a time unlike any since Ephraim broke away from Judah—he will bring the king of Assyria.”

Could this be any more clear that Immanuel would be eating baby food when Rezin and Remaliah's son are defeated? Yet you respond with news of the destruction of a temple in Jerusalem that happened decades after Jesus graduated from shul.

Deuteronomy 13:1 [a]If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder, 2 and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” 3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. 5 That prophet or dreamer must be put to death for inciting rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. That prophet or dreamer tried to turn you from the way the Lord your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you.

6 If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, 7 gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), 8 do not yield to them or listen to them. Show them no pity. Do not spare them or shield them. 9 You must certainly put them to death. Your hand must be the first in putting them to death, and then the hands of all the people. 10 Stone them to death, because they tried to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 11 Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and no one among you will do such an evil thing again.

12 If you hear it said about one of the towns the Lord your God is giving you to live in 13 that troublemakers have arisen among you and have led the people of their town astray, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods you have not known), 14 then you must inquire, probe and investigate it thoroughly. And if it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done among you, 15 you must certainly put to the sword all who live in that town. You must destroy it completely, both its people and its livestock. 16 You are to gather all the plunder of the town into the middle of the public square and completely burn the town and all its plunder as a whole burnt offering to the Lord your God. That town is to remain a ruin forever, never to be rebuilt, 17 and none of the condemned things[c] are to be found in your hands.
Then along came Jesus, claiming to have a new way of worshiping, and calling his god Abba. So as they were taught to do by the Scriptures, the citizens made sure that he was put to death.

Any religion that puts Jesus on the same level as God has to be false, and its followers deserve pitiless death, according to Deuteronomy. That's what the Scriptures tell us.

Dear, lady, can you hear the wind blow, and did you know - your stairway lies on the whispering wind.
