What's your mattress?

I just bought a new mattress yesterday. I haven’t had it long enough for it to tell any “juicy” fucking stories. I’ll get back to you in a couple of days when it’s broken in with style😂Kant
 
i've gone through several over the years. the previous one was a top brand with bells and whistles that i paid too much for. after two years there was a dip in it where my body usually rested (no, i'm not fat!) and a broken spring had worked its way out and stabbed me. also, even though it was supposed to be extra firm i woke up every morning with a back ache.

i figured that if i was going to keep replacing, i'd go cheap on the new one. i went to ikea and found an all foam mattress that the guy said was the firmest they had. i took it home and instead of buying a boxspring, i built a solid platform to lay it on. it's the best and most comfortable bed i've ever had, i hate to get out of it. the ikea mattress cost like $200 bucks and it's still like new after 3 years.

moral: shop around before buying and don't fall for the sales talk.
 
I bought Purple mattresses.
The first one I bought was for my guest bedroom, slept on it for a month or 2, loved it, and got a second Purple for my master bedroom.

Purple doesn't get as hot as other memory foam matresses. The tempurpedic mattress I had got so freaking hot, and it was $$$! Purple is cheap.

I just have a thin, foam one over wooden slats. I find it perfectly comfortable, but ape loathes it and has been eyeing up expensive replacements. I like hard! FFS :rolleyes:

Check out avacado green mattress.

My king has 1440 steel coils shoulder to knee.

It's supposed to be "green." Green or not my sleep is sounder and more restful. Firm and cool for a mattress in a box.

Like as in the mattress itself gets hot? I can't stand being hot when I sleep. I will crank the air or lower the heat (depending on season). I find I wake up sometimes looking for one of the cool pillows.

I need to buy a new mattress but keep putting it off because I hate store shopping. We went to a furniture store recently to try and find a nightstand that somewhat matches my original and were so bombarded by over-cologned salespeople.

Satin sheets tend to exaggerate the room temperature. If the room is cold, the satin sheets are even colder. Dear God, when it’s hot, don’t even plan on sleeping under them🐾Kant

Did not know that about satin sheets. I've never bought them because they seem like they'd be a bitch to launder.
