. . . but here is the final chapter in my take on celebrity-stalker Valerie Solanas.

https://literotica.com/s/valerie-in-new-york-ch-04

There is a movie version of her first meeting with Maurice Girodias - not the same as the dinner meeting with him depicted in the story (and which is loosely based on a real event):

While the movie mostly depicts her as an eccentric but charming writer/social critic gone awry, the real effects of her actions should honestly be described:

By my count, you have requested feedback 18 times in the last 10 months. That's about one request every three weeks or so. Giving feedback requires time and effort on the part of the reviewers. We are not at your beck and call, nor are we a push-button support system when your story doesn't get the response you think it deserves.

You should consider giving back, providing feedback for others, and evening out the balance. Don't be a leech.

I've received feedback from gunhilltrain on at least one of my stories. It just wasn't through this forum.

I don't think the Web site has a limit to how many review requests an author here can/should make on this board. I don't think there's a correlation between posting a story to Literotica and feeling you have either the ability or responsibility to give advice on writing, either. Most who do don't really have the chops to giving other writers good feedback. Just as I don't think that posting stories here means you are doing something wrong if you don't read stories here. These are all different functions.

By the same token, there is no website mandate that requires participation from contributors. We volunteer out of generosity, and there are limits (largely subjective ones) to that generosity.

If the 18th request in 10 months does not exceed that for you, then by all means contribute. I would love to see a writer of your experience share some wisdom. There are quite a few unanswered requests right now, and I'm working on a story.

Send Laurel a check if you want to dictate what others should do here.

I don't think you understand what dictating means, which is surprising.

Yeah, I figured you'd talk your bad posting behavior to death in post after post.

Actually these are partially new story advertisements. I know there is a section for that but, yes, I figure it doesn't hurt to bring it to the attention of a few more readers.

I've found this to be a pretty supportive site. Nobody has to do anything they don't want to do. There is no money at stake for any of us, and there's plenty of bandwidth or however you want to describe it to support the bulletin boards. Everybody is here to satisfy their desire to have readers and to have some enjoyment while doing it.

You'll note that the pros - authors, actors, filmmakers, artists - all go out on the promotion circuits when they have something new out. It's about marketing of course but it's more than that. Note that about 95% of them probably show up when nominated for an Emmy or whatever it is to be presented.

By coincidence I just saw this clip of Peter O'Toole getting his honorary Oscar. He's quite gracious about it but - well, not too humble either. Actually I think Meryl Streep as the presenter hams it up for a bit too long. But then, she figures she's in the same league as O'Toole and she's not that humble about it either.

I'm probably not qualified, for the most part, to be a critic and reviewer. (I'm not even sure I'm qualified to be a writer but that's another story.)

Sometimes people ask for feedback on this board and I just don't "get" what they wrote in their story. I really don't know what useful things I could tell them.

Usually I prefer, if I comment at all, to do it directly under the story. In the last week I had a fruitful discussion with somebody that way. He even emailed me but he didn't want to leave a return address for that - which is fine.

If I say anything it's usually for something I really like or for some very specific item that occurred to me. If it's a story I don't like or just can't figure out, I'm not going to bother the person about it.

Anyway, I want to advertise many if not most of my stories by simply mentioning them on this board and I will continue to do that. If somebody has feedback or maybe no one does - that's okay. I've even been on Loving Wives once already so I can take some lumps - which the good people in that section generously offered.
