So, not only is she going to make a killing in "Captain Marvel", she's also going to clean up in "Avengers: Endgame". Nothing is going to go down in flames quite as quickly or spectacularly as a deplorable prediction of this character losing the studio money. :cool:

Ant-Man and the Wasp is probably the weakest performing movie in the MCU so far, and that made $215 million domestically. I would be stunned if Captain Marvel doesn't do better than that even if the reviews wind up being mixed.

There's also the fact that Marvel is at the end of the road with the Avengers, and this character is going to be one of their keys to continued world domination in the 2020s. They usually get these big decisions right. Is Brie Larson as Captain Marvel any more unlikely than building a franchise around notorious fuckup Robert Downey Jr. seemed 12 years ago?

It's a small sample, but people who have seen the movie and liked it have more credibility with me than people who dislike it without having seen it. (The trailers look really good, but that's the job of trailers.)
