Trump is the National Emergency

As usual, that's only half the story.

"But he can't do that! It's unconstitutional!!!"

Except CONGRESS delegated him the authority to do that.

It's not a National Emergency.

It's called "I want my wall and I will do whatever it takes"

Aren't there any other issues in the world that needs to be dealt with?

First, a "National" emergency is supposed to deal with US "national" interests, not "other issues around the world".

Secondly, what would you call the seizure of enough Fentanyl to kill everyone in the US? A party?

A HUGE % of the drugs illegally imported into the US come through the Southern border. ANYONE who thinks they "only" come through the border checkpoints needs some education in reality.

Read this:

https://www.politifact.com/new-york...ty-opioids-come-us-through-points-entry-lowe/

Pay attention to the parts where it says that we know about the drugs we stop, but we don't know what percentage of the TOTAL importation number is. We know the seizures are a percentage, but not what percentage.

Also, pay attention to the fact that while most of the seizures are in points of entry, there have been some in areas where the border is unprotected.

Now, ask yourself this; if we're seizing drugs at points of entry, and we don't know if we're getting a major or minor portion of the total amounts of drugs coming in, AND we're seizing drugs which aren't at points of entry, isn't it possible that the drugs which aren't coming through the points of entry are not a small percentage and we're just not catching it?

We do have a drug crisis in the US. WHERE are those drugs coming from if we're catching them at the border crossings? Or are they getting here some other way?

If it's some other way, shouldn't we do something about it?

It will be extremely fascinating to see how this plays out in the courts.

I predict it will be equally frustrating to both sides.

I also believe that some of those who control the money and political issue need those drugs and people to continue to cross the border. Exposure or curtailment is not in their interests so they fight tooth and nail to prevent it any way they can.
