An odd little idea I had. There’s a vid on YouTube that suddenly shoots up in popularity. It’s the only vid a user uploaded. All it is is just a couple of people (who are shot from the neck down and Are wearing indistinct clothing) talking for a bit and then holding hands in a park. The conversation is just about how much the park has changed. There’s no credits, it wasn’t even tagged well and was uploaded years ago. Yet suddenly its views shoot up like crazy.

Why?

Because the video makes whoever watches it, provided they are an adult, achingly aroused. People watching it figured out the odd effect and started watching it with dates and roommates. People started filming reaction videos of themselves or friends getting increasingly turned on. There’s analysis videos trying to figure it out, the audio is gone over with every program (even if a person’s blind or deaf, if they are exposed to the video, they become aroused), yet nothing adds up.

What stories could be told about a world where a video like this exists?

Stories about the first people to discover the vid?

Mystery where people try to find who uploaded it? Maybe the uploaded after years of inactivity deletes it and mirrors of it don’t work.

People using it for their own gains? Got someone you want to get with? try and show them the video...of course, things might not go as you plan.

Mass media not understanding what the appeal is and foolishly putting it out to more people (today show puts the entire video up for a broadcast, suddenly the entire nation breaks into an orgy)?

As part of an experiment, a willing test subject is exposed to the video to see how long they can watch it without suffering any ill effects. In one experiment, the person is bound so they can't touch themselves, but they eventually come without even being touched after the 12th viewing.

Also, someone might try to find out who the video doesn't work on. Does it work on the elderly? Children? Asexual people?
