Secret Service agents distributing Challenge Coins mocking shutdown: ‘Don’t worry, you’ll get back pay

https://www.rawstory.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Shutdown-Challenge-Coin.jpg

On the thirty-third day of President Donald Trump’s government shutdown, CNN anchor Jake Tapper reported that Secret Service agents were distributing challenge coins mocking the closure.

“Photos of special challenge coins being distributed among Secret Service personnel and their families, expressing frustration at the requirement they work without pay because of the government shutdown,” Tapper tweeted.

If he doesn't pay them, will they take a bullet for him?

Trump had his confidantes lie publicly multiple times before he ordered Cohen to lie to Congress: national security expert

Donald Trump convinced his most trusted confidantes to lie to law enforcement for him, one national security expert argued — and did so repeatedly.

Independent journalist Marcy Wheeler wrote in The New Republic Wednesday about the controversial BuzzFeed News report about Trump ordering his “fixer” Michael Cohen to lie to Congress. Wheeler wrote that it was “the first known example of Trump explicitly telling a subordinate to lie directly about his own dealings with Russia,” there were several times prior when the president did just that.

Thirty-Seven Pinocio's and rising!

The Revolt Grows!

John Kelly joins all former Homeland Security Secretaries in demanding end to Trump’s shutdown

Former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly joined every single former Secretary of Homeland Security in writing a letter to President Donald Trump to urge re-opening of the department.

“We call on our elected leaders to restore the funding necessary to ensure our homeland remains safe and that the department’s critical national security functions continue without compromise.
-
The signers included every retired Secretary since the Department was formed in 2002.

But Rethug's are resisting too!

GOP committee passes resolution to cancel Republican primary due to Trump’s ‘effective presidency

The Republican National Committee’s resolutions group passed a resolution effectively canceling the GOP primary in 2020.

“RNC Resolutions Committee just voted unanimously to “undivided support” for Trump and his “effective presidency,” clearing way for passage before full GOP governing body on Friday,” tweeted Associated Press reporter Zeke Miller.

Trump is not doing well in polls. While his GOP support has been unwavering, the rest of the country blames him for the government shutdown. As it stands today, every possible Democratic challenger would beat him in the general election.

Rethug's following the doomed DNC's pushing Hillz on the Nation.

Will we have a fair Demo primary, or will the DNC fuck up again?

Post 51 .... ya' know, if your AV were a bit more orangey ....

National security expert flattens Trump’s wall argument: ‘If you build a 50-foot wall you’ll find a tunnel

Early Wednesday morning, the president tweeted that a wall will “put an end to stoppable crime and drugs” — but as CNN noted in its special report, cartels have always and will continue to find ways around barriers at the border.

“In just the past month alone,” host Erin Burnett said, “three new tunnels have been discovered in one border town.”

It's like he thinks in two dimensions.

‘The president blinked’: CNN panel explains how Pelosi called Trump’s bluff — and won

President Donald Trump late Wednesday backed off his threat to storm into the House of Representatives uninvited and deliver his State of the Union address in the House of Representatives without the consent of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

On CNN Thursday morning, host John Berman succinctly described what happened: “The president blinked.”

“He now says he will not deliver that speech until a government shutdown is over,” Berman added. “This is a full 180 in tone and in substance.”

PeeResident blinked, stuttered, and crapped his diaper. :D

Fox News host gets visibility frustrated as raving Trump adviser Larry Kudlow ducks questions on the shutdown’s impact

Larry Kudlow, director of President Donald Trump’s National Economic Council, got into hot water on Fox News Thursday, when he tried to change the subject from the impact of the shutdown to the jobs report.

“There is no doubt that’s strong, jobless claims, it’s a 49-year low, Larry. Got it, point taken,” she said impatiently. “Beyond Hassett’s comments, you have recently said that you expect GDP will snap back after the shutdown ends. So snap back from what? That suggests it’s taken a hit.”

What a putz!

Some serious bullshit

https://thehill.com/homenews/admini...impacted-by-shutdown-are-volunteering-in-part

President Trump's top economic advisor on Thursday said federal employees were "volunteering" to work amid the partial government shutdown in part because of their "allegiance to President Trump."

"They honor us and they do it because of their love for their country and the office of the presidency and presumably their allegiance to President Trump," National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow said while speaking to reporters at the White House briefing room. "They’re doing it. Give them some credit. There are a lot of wonderful people in this country."

Talking Points Memo reported that Kudlow made the statement after previously praising federal workers for "working for free" during the shutdown. At least 800,000 federal workers — plus contractors — are either furloughed or working for free.

"They’re volunteering," Kudlow reportedly said. "But they do it because they believe government service is honorable and they believe in Trump and they’re working as hard as ever.”

A reporter replied by questioning Kudlow's take on volunteering, saying that it's "not volunteering if you're being forced to work without pay."

Kudlow responded by accusing the journalist of trying to play a "semantic game."

"I’m not going to even go there. You know what I’m saying," Kudlow said. "It’s very clear. With respect to people who do have financial hardships, they are coming to work and giving them the same 24/7 work they always did. And I will say to you whatever semantic game you think you’re going to play with me and I’m usually an easy going guy. Give them credit. They honor us. I don’t care whether you’re a Republican or Democrat. I mean that sincerely. They honor us."

The exchange came amid a government shutdown that is now into its 34th day, the longest shutdown in U.S. history.

The funding lapse was triggered on Dec. 22 after Congress failed to reach an agreement on a new spending bill. President Trump has demanded that more than $5 billion for a wall along the southern border be included in it, which Democrats oppose.

The Senate on Thursday rejected two measures to end the shutdown, one with Trump's demanded wall funding and one without.

It sounds like the Trumpskis have figured out how to NOT PAY the ones who Volunteered? That 'll save a few bucks for the wall.

Lawrence O’Donnell: Trump is ‘alone in a hell of his own creation’ as he loses shutdown fight to Nancy Pelosi

MSNBC anchor and former U.S. Senate staffer Lawrence O’Donnell on Thursday explained how President Donald Trump is losing the political battle over his shutdown of the federal government.

“Nancy Pelosi said no to Donald Trump again today and so tonight a defeated president finds himself alone in a hell of his own creation, a government shutdown which he thought was going to make him look strong but makes him look weaker every day, with his polling numbers getting worse all the time and with Republicans defecting from the Trump sinking ship every day, every time there’s a vote,” he explained.

Watch Lawrence gloat his way through the segment.

GOP senators screamed at Mitch McConnell and Mike Pence about shutdown in closed-door meeting

Republican senators screamed at Senate Majority leader in a closed-door luncheon on Thursday, reports the Washington Post.

The GOP senators “clashed with each other and confronted Vice President Pence,” the report said “as anger hit a boiling point” over Trump’s shutdown.

Among the “heated moments,” McConnell was targeted by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) who told him, “This is your fault.”

“Are you suggesting I’m enjoying this?” McConnell reportedly replied.

Oh I hope not Senator, I hope not.:)

I was wondering if we should call it something else, like getting dry fucked. Seriously, if employees are showing up at work and not being paid and and realistically are not volunteering to work for Mr. Trump as Shithead National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow suggestd on Thursday? So should we really call it a shutdown if people are working, they're just not getting paid. My taxes which go, in part, to paying federal salaries are still deducted from my income.

Trump says grocery stores will ‘work along’ with federal workers to give them free groceries during shutdown

Maybe Wal-Mart can work out a deal?

President Donald Trump on Thursday suggested that grocery stores are extending credit to federal employees facing economic crisis due to his shutdown.

In statements from the White House that will keep fact-checkers busy, Trump defended comments by Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.

Trump said that banks are “working along” with federal workers who are unable to meet mortgage payments.

There goes Trumpski, forging bonds between the people in need and the Corptocracy.

Does this end well?

Good morning, Donald Trump!’ Internet rejoices as FBI agents haul Roger Stone out of bed

Noting that Trump was likely watching the video of the raid unfold, one Twitter wag gleefully tweeted, “Good morning, @realDonaldTrump!” before adding, “Once you’ve had your special vitamins, your first Egg McMuffin, and your fourth piss since midnight, enjoy the knowledge that Roger Stone is going to rat you out.”

:D

FLASHBACK: Trump bragged last month that now-indicted Roger Stone would never flip on him

President Donald Trump praised longtime ally Roger Stone for not incriminating him — less than two months before the GOP activist was arrested in the special counsel probe.

“’I will never testify against Trump.’ This statement was recently made by Roger Stone, essentially stating that he will not be forced by a rogue and out of control prosecutor to make up lies and stories about ‘President Trump,'” Trump tweeted. “Nice to know that some people still have ‘guts!’”

You do know that federal employees salaries are retroactive right? So they will be receiving a large check for all the time worked or sitting home. Btw the federal employees work for the US government, not President Trump.

Moot point Debbiev, President Fartwaffle folded and his spin doctors are doing what they do - but long and short of it, his 35 day temper tantrum for a monument of futility that only came to importance when the House was no longer under Ryan and the Rep's control and that the Russian owned steel company waiting in the wings to supply the raw materials was hoping to cash in, ended with a whimper and he was once again proven to be outclassed.

Retroactive or not, lets keep you and 799,999 of your closest friends from getting a paycheck for 35 days and see how understanding the credit card companies, mortgage, car payments, cel phone, food store, gas station, and other people you have to give a piece of your money are for not getting paid. I'm sure it's a hoot.

My 2 cents.

Trump sends out panicked tweet after Roger Stone’s arrest: ‘Witch hunt! No Collusion! Border Coyotes!’

President Donald Trump issued a panicked tweet Friday morning, about five hours after his longtime adviser Roger Stone was arrested.

The president had remained uncharacteristically quiet in the hours after Stone’s arrest on seven counts in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe, which found the Republican operative had lied about contacts with WikiLeaks and the Trump campaign.

“Greatest Witch Hunt in the History of our Country!” Trump tweeted. “NO COLLUSION! Border Coyotes, Drug Dealers and Human Traffickers are treated better. Who alerted CNN to be there?”

Trump is ‘giving in’: Fox News declares government funding deal a ‘big victory for Democrats

On Friday, lawmakers reportedly agreed to a tentative deal to reopen the federal government, after 35 days during which 800,000 federal workers were unpaid and major airports warned they would have to start redirecting flights.

President Donald Trump will not be getting his funding request for a wall met.

:)

Conservative shames Trump for ‘stabbing the base in the heart’ by caving into Democrats

“Right now as everyone’s reacting to this, right-wing media is going off over this. How will the Sean Hannity’s of the world defend Trump on this?” CNN’s Brooke Baldwin asked political reporter Eliza Collins.

“I don’t know if they can. On my way over here I was texting with a conservative who was close to the White House and he said that this ‘stabbed the base in the heart.’ This was Trump’s biggest promise to the base. They really wanted it and he’s completely failed to do that and he failed to do it to Nancy Pelosi,” she responded.

That's why I call them "Trump Chumps"!

:)
