●●●●●●●●●● Are "MAGA" hats a symbol of hatred? ●●●●●●●●●●

Poll to follow.

At the very kindest, misplaced pride.

But from what I can tell, from those I've seen in them, they are very angry and emotional people. Who seem to want some kind of revenge against liberals.

I am puzzled by the idea I've seen expressed these last couple of days that it would be wrong to make a judgment about somebody based on their MAGA hat. Isn't that the entire reason someone wears a branded piece of clothing: because there's a specific message you want that clothing to send?

Mostly, they are a symbol of ignoring the problems of the past instead of realistically facing the current and future problems.

But yes, for many hat wearers, they are a symbol of hatred that the American Civil War was "lost".

Is my Clinton inauguration T-shirt offensive?

It was a present from my eldest daughter who went to that inauguration.

It lives in a drawer with my Status Quo and Red Army Choir T-shirts.

It's probably offensive to those who hate the Clintons

MAGA is a trigger for violence to those hypnotized, weak-minded fools who believe what the lying MSM tells them. Not really a "symbol".

If someone locally were selling Status Quo and/or Red Army Choir t-shirts, I'd pretty much be forced to buy one.

You're triggered if someone brings up a point you can't address.

You're triggered if someone brings up a topic you know nothing about.

You'd be triggered if we linked evidence to all of the above (which we can).

You're the most easily-triggered member on the GB.

You'll be triggered by this post.

Yes, I think any intelligent and conscientious person who knows a thing or two about history, can see that it is really a symbol of hatred. What does it mean to take our country back? From who? Who is "our"?

He didn't exactly campaign on unity, he brought out an undercurrent of hatred and bitterness.

America was always great for her diversity and the perserverence of her people, but the country has a rocky history and can easily go back to the ways it was in the past where certain groups of people were disenfranchised.

Make America Great Again... does not mean make america white again. It's a signal for unity and prosperity, it's what good leaders do.

Lot's of judgement going on for the wearers of these hats:

Not sure hot is is any different for a MAGA hat.

But if you ask me if MAGA is a symbol of hate. My answer is no. It is a symbol that the wearer is a pathetic rube who was and continues to be duped. It is their cry for help for rescue from all the things they have been told to be afraid of.

I usually agree with your opinions on threads, but yo, I can't hang with you on this one.

The pink hats are backlash to the hatred and the misogyny pushed by this "leader" and his party. When one keeps poking someone with a stick, of course they are going to react!

Why is it when a group resists a belligerent power, some folks want to play the "both sides do it" game? It's so easy to be lackadaisical about hatred when one is not the target of the ire or has a loved one who happens to be included in that group.

A very high % of people who choose not to wear that hat, agree with you.

A disturbingly significant % of people who choose to wear that hat, do not.

I don't consider a MAGA cap to be an expression of hatred. However, it often makes its wearer a target of hatred. :(

You know he isn't a cranky old foggy, but a millennial like me, which I find so surprising. Yet, he is so angry at the world. I usually don't pay him any mind, but I remember when I first joined during the Obama administration. I didn't remember him behaving in such a rabid manner, he wasn't this obnoxious. As soon as manchild took power, the nastiness set in. Manchild campaigned on divisiveness, with his boorish behavior. It's like he gave free reign for assholes to, well, show their true nature.
