Speculative Fiction Podcast Seeking Erotic Text Stories

I found this announcement from the site in the SciFi and Fantasy hub.

As many of you know, Literotica has recently become a sponsor of the Nobilis Erotica Speculative Fiction Podcast.

The podcast is seeking text erotic story submissions. If accepted, authors will be paid and the story will be read on the podcast by voice actors/actresses.

I thought it was an interesting offer, but it turns out that they want speculative erotic stories, and especially SciFi, in the range of 2k to 6k words. I've only had two stories come in under 6k words, and they weren't speculative fiction.

So anywhere the world or its occupants are better, worse, weirder, or more the same as usual. Where aliens or unicorns abound, or politicians are nice people, or mutant Viagra keeps a man erect and spewing for 126 hours without pain.

What would you say characterizes ‘speculative fiction’?

In the Lit context, I can think of anything in Erotic Horror, NonHuman, of SciFi/Fantasy, and odd stories elsewhere. My story in Novels and Novellas would be speculative fiction, but its too long.

Then comes the fertilizer, and the pruning shears, and around here are hungry deer to nibble your spouts and shoots, and pumas watching the deer. Branching out is a hazardous endeavor. I'm not sure if insurance coverage is available.

PS: One can speculate with non-human or inanimate narrators. Tell sex stories from the POVs of cats, mirrors, used condoms or tampons, beds, etc. Or tell what a certain body part experiences before, during, and after the action.

In 2004 I wrote a story about Lesbian Spiders. It is complete but only 714 words. I could add a paragraph or two to make it suitable for the 750 word project...
