I don't use it and only hear it from 20-30 yr old inner city guys. I think I hear I "could get down with that" more often" usually in response to my saying that I am not interested because I am older than their momma ;)

Ha! Your milkshake still got it going on, obviously! :D

It's honestly not a new phrase and more to the point, it has many variations using "get" as the base word, all of them pretty much focusing on the same meaning of "being/doing/liking", which is kinda easy to suss out even if you never heard it once. I dunno, it's a casual conversational thing, nothing cipher deep needing scrutinizing. I probably hear "mess with" or "fucks with" even more than that.

...What are going to be your priorities, Nancy? From her speech:

We must . . . face the existential threat of our time: the climate crisis – a crisis manifested in natural disasters of epic proportions. The American people understand the urgency. The people are ahead of the Congress. The Congress must join them. That is why we have created the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. The entire Congress must work to put an end to the inaction and denial of science that threaten the planet and the future.

It’s an “existential threat”! Does she even know what China, India, et al., are up to? Apparently not. And what exactly is this new committee on the “climate crisis” going to do? Pelosi hasn’t spoken to that yet, but we do have a detailed proposal from (of course) new “it” Congressperson Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has been named as a member of the new committee. According to this document, the fundamental mission of the committee will be to create the “Green New Deal.” And what will that consist of...

...To me, Pelosi and Ocasio-Cortez look like complete fools, but what do I know...

How high above existing sea level do you recommend I buy land today in order to leave beachfront to my great grandchildren?

60 ×

That would be 60 × 3.2 mm, the rate at which sea level has been rising for past twenty years (and that rate shows absolutely no signs of acceleration).

Here are some excellent articles if you actually want to learn something about it (I specially recommend anything written by Kip Hansen on the subject):

we have moved toward allergies now that we ruled out the gerd and post nasal drip

Yikes, that is horrible. I am assuming the did lung xrays and all? Night time asthma? I have issues with house dust mites that can make me cough. The show up somewhat in scratch tests, but they show up amazingly high in IGE blood tests. Try and get them to do blood kinds if possible.

Sarcoid? Blood tests for sarcoid in the lungs aren't always correct.

The exact cause of sarcoidiosis is not known. It is classified under autoimmune disorder but the trigger is unknown. Symptoms include persistent dry cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, tender and reddish patches on skin and other organs. Treatment options include medication and surgery.

I also noticed the reddish patches and tenderness.

1 Congo penis? That's it?

Yup, that's it.

"...Sea level has been increasing by about 8 inches per century for hundreds of years, and we have clearly been able to deal with it. In order to promote fear, however, those models that predict much larger increases are invoked. As a practical matter, it has long been known that at most coastal locations, changes in sea level, as measured by tide gauges, are primarily due to changes in land level associated with both tectonics and land use..."

Saturday night, dinner with both the adult kidlets and their partners, my ex, my ex's Mrs and his parents, me and my ape. It might be fun, it might be a disaster...

Hmmmmm. What's the logic of running the risk ?

So I can't get the thing showing I don't get kinship care for my brother anymore, so he can't go to school next semester because he doesn't have everything he needs for financial aid to calculate his EIC and actually give him money.

So... that's great.

Nonessential my ass.
Thanks shutdown.

Hey, financial aid office, if somebody is a grown-ass adult how the fuck would you draw on them?

Like this is some bureaucratic bullshit that could be solved with logic.

It happens a lot more than you think.

If this is in response to me I realize now that I'm not in a rage that lots of parents/guardians draw on adult children but it's not the same system. It'd change over because kinship cuts off at 18.

And also I am just really pissed. Financial Aid offices are a constant hellscape and I guess he really does just have to sit out a semester because fuck us, I guess.

Kinship and guardianship are not the same thing. Also, there are many adult dependents who can draw on points “borrowed” from a parent as well so there are ways to still receive benefits even after age of majority.
