To the Orthodox amongst us.

Just listened to a Ukrainian men’s caroling group. Probably about the only ones who can give the Welsh a run for their money.
 
Gunshots echoed down in the county seat today, right by St Sava's.

That's how the historic local Serbian community celebrates XMas.

(Many Serbs came to the Mother Lode to dig gold and die in mines.)

Only blanks were fired in the air, they say. Whew. Some doves survived.

Does any culture have an Easter tradition of shooting rabbits?

PS: I included a Serb XMas in a recent series. Feasts were sufficient.
 
I never heard much singing when I was in Ethiopia; instead you hear lots of goats and sheep the night before. I wonder if 'Silent Night' is inspired on the following night...
I always recall the three Roche sisters' version of Silent Night circa 1984. Two sang beautiful harmony while one screamed the pains of childbirth. That's real.
