Several years back I texted a cousin with whom I am quite close.

She replied with, I usually give you a pass because you lack a basic understanding of social constructs, but that text was too far.

On and on it went.

I read this message and said, I didn't know.

Sometimes when she texts me she tries to guide me through. It's a strange thing.

If it's me opening a can of worms of the strange, I don't know about it. I might be a little odd myself in a compatible way, perhaps? Where I don't think your particular strangeness is beyond regular social interaction. I didn't mean to be, like, a sjw or something and leap to your defense where there was none to be had, I just thought it puzzling.
