Schumer's disrespectful behavior extends gov't shutdown

In progressive think, immigration reform means "amnesty for all, forever".

But they TOTALLY don't want open borders.

Just like they want to manage your finances, tell you how to run your company from top to bottom and make sure your social life is up to PC snuff allegedly to ensure equitable outcomes in life for all....but they are TOTALLY liberal and not at all socialists.

I think they lie more for themselves than to try and convince anyone else.

. 100% of ILLEGAL immigrants commit a crime. Yes, 100% of them. And I'm not talking about infractions, every last one of them commits at least 1 misdemeanor

When was the last time someone could say US citizens committed crimes at that rat

That is the most stupid language game I've seen from you yet. Illegal immigrants are doing something illegal. Congratulations.

When people say, "illegal immigrants commit less crimes," the non-douchenozzels among us understand the implication of "crimes other than the crime of illegally living in the US."

However, I have never fact checked those claims. Would you kindly recommend a reliable site that either supports or debunks them?

If you don’t control the border, all your utopian ideas will fail.

This is the sort straw man argument that really rustles my jimmies.

Everyone wants the border to be controlled except some fringe wackadoos.

The crux of the issue is, is spending $ on a massive physical barrier across US-Mexico border the best (or even decent) way to achieve border control?

And the answer is no.

We need to spend money on:
Training border guards
Equipping border guards
Hiring more adjudicators
Facility improvement
Process improvement at every level.

Regardless of what trollisarius says, even the Cato Institute recognizes that the (greatly reduced) number of people crossing the US-Mexico border illegally are doing it for safety and the fact that there is demand for their labor. So, something also needs to be done about the industries that would perish if they had to hire legal workers (large chunks of agriculture and construction).

I was hoping for the heebie-jeebies....but rustlin' your jimmies will do.

Yup. We need all that too, and a wall. Especially a wall. Something to defend. Something to keep the 'honest' folks out.
Again, walls work.
CBP says so. Over 90% effective in San Diego. Over 90% effective in Yuma.
Or are they lairs? I suppose you think so.
The wall works in Israel. Almost 100% effective.
And in Hungary, 99.9% effective.

For Cato, and you, to declare that walls don't work, flies in the face of fact.
"Illegals commit less crimes than Americans" whether true or not, does not help the people who live along the border one little bit. Or people in towns and cities where some of the criminals migrate. Or people who travel through any of those posted drug corridors.
It doesn't help folks like me, who have livestock stolen and killed. Their Rxr stolen off the back porch. Their hose burglarized.

If we need laborers, fine. They can come in legally. They need to be vetted.

Your opinion is based on other people's opinion. People who sit at desks and do nothing but 'think'.
Mine is from living in the southwest, and opinions from CBP people, who live hear too.

Believe what you want.
I will too. And your opinion sure as hell won't change mine.
If that gets your jammies in a bunch, too bad Bullwinkle.

It's NOT a "language game", it's proving that the D narrative is a bald faced LIE. One which you swallowed willingly because you don't want to speak truth, you'd rather spin a lie.

Fewer crimes means FEWER crimes. It doesn't mean; "except for the crimes we don't want to mention" regardless of whether some gasbag with an agenda wants to think otherwise.

FACTS matter. 100% of ILLEGAL immigrants are misdemeanants. That FACT defeats the entire narrative of "they commit fewer crimes than US citizens".

You can't even say "they commit fewer crimes than US citizens after they come here" because the fact that they're HERE is the crime and it continues as long as they're here. 100% of them, 100% of the time. So what you do is speak at best a half truth. Which is still a lie 100% of the time because you KNOW it's not the entire truth yet you said it anyway.

This isn't semantics, it's either the truth or it's not.

Now, tell us, who's really the one who's playing the "language game"?

Your argument is nothing but a straw man because it doesn't address the REAL problem.

IF we spend the money on those things, will illegal immigration decrease? Or will the expenditure go on forever and grow ever larger each year as costs rise and more personnel/facilities are required?

Of course it'll go up. Anyone can understand that.

The alternative is to build an expensive wall. Once built the yearly expense after construction drops to maintenance levels. We can also do without the corps of judges, clerks, secretaries, buildings. furnishing, security personnel, detention facilities, and so on. By that savings alone the wall will eventually be paid for and thereafter we will actually save taxpayer money.

Bonus points: The words "illegal immigrant" won't apply to anyone here. Thus, no need to say things like "Human beings aren't illegal" and the rest of that PC tripe.

Heaven forbid that we spend the wall money on hiring qualified amnesty caseworkers so our current immigration policy could be effectively enacted. This would help bring the “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore." into our welcoming country legally and the new immigrants could take pride in what's right about America

Damn Dudley, I was about to start weeping at all the emoting over the horrible fates of all those illegal immigrants who are being victimized by US Immigration Policy. It's a travesty.

We should do something about that. Maybe build a wall or something...

I'm curious. I read all about the great, magnificent steel slats that will run from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico, but I never read about any entry ports. Is the plan to cut off the border completely? How will that work with the new, fantastic trade agreement between Canada, the US, and Mexico?

You have no idea what I said and just seeing my triggered an irrelevant response from you.

Here are a few numbers from 1964 to 2017 that have been documented:

27,300 HOMICDES

120,300 SEX CRIMES

397,000 ASSAULTS

1,100 TERROSIM OFFENSES

EACH Illegal Alien costs the taxpayers $70,000 a year

The above numbers rise every 24 hours 365 days a year

Yet, Pelosi and Schumer walked out of the meeting with POTUS late this afternoon before they heard all the facts.

One has to be a "Sick ***************" to reject GAO 2018 FACTS in order to gain future Democrat voters by not protecting America's Southern Border..

Even if those numbers were true it's still a much smaller percentage than Americans who commit the same crimes.

I'll feel much better next time my Rzr is stolen, and I see it one last time, with some kid riding off with it on the other side of the barbed wire fence you think is adequate, because YOU KNOW, that Americans commit more crimes than illegals.

Your wisdom is so much appreciated.

Yes, Americans should pay $70,000 year for each uninvited guest. Take care of veterans, homeless, and other Americans who need the help first!

How about you leave us your address and we'll send some over to stay on your dime?

America first!

Agree! America first!

Do you know how many veterans and homeless we could feed and shelter with $5 BILLION FUCKING DOLLARS?

You righties should think before typing.

But you never would.

Making sure illegal immigrants get HC and an education is much more important.

You anti-American globalist lefties should think before typing.

But but, if we sheltered and fed all those homeless Vets, then the D's could pass a bill requestingan additional $5 billion to feed and shelter the homeless illegal immigrants that come through the border each and every year...

Oh, and let's not forget the $32 TRILLION we'd need on top of the $5 billion to give them healthcare either.

Me triggered?

Lol. You're so triggered you haven't been able to TYPE coherently since yesterday.

I hope you realize that if there had been a border wall NONE OF THOSE crimes would have been committed. All those people would be alive/uninjured and look at the money we'd have saved. Might be enough to pay off the national debt. Which maybe might lower taxes. Or be used to fund free college tuition for everyone.

Maybe even socialize heathcare.

But nooooooo, we have to spend all the money on FOREIGN NATIONALS who come here to murder, rape, rob, and terrorize.

Idjit.

Hello????
Immigration reform and control act of 1986
Who was President then?

Make all the reforms you want. Make ‘em all legal. That fixes nothing. Costs a lot. Unless you stop in inflow of ilegals, it will never end.
Operation wetback inn 1954 didn’t work, because we didn’t control he border.
Immigration Act in 1986, for multiple reasons, including not controling the border.

So go ahead....repeat history. If you don’t control the border, all your utopian ideas will fail.

Bottom line, it won’t help me, and people like me, and all Americans.
Some more light reading for you. See if you can find the word “wall” in this document. https://georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/stateoftheunion/2007/initiatives/immigration.html
