I have no stuff for a big breakfast spread. Thankfully the streets are better than they were last night. We wound up not going to Burch for dinner and eating closer to home. I’m still having major steak cravings. Perhaps steak and refs are in order.

I had the best roasted heirloom carrots last night.

That sounds amazing. Tomorrow I’m roasting some carrots and parsnips and I’m so damn excited.

My life is so not interesting when I get so jazzed about roasted veggies.

A family member sent me a recipe for brown sugar tofu and sprouts and it’s one of my favorite things on the planet.

We got just enough that we were sliding all over the place in the fella’s car which is why I didn’t get my steak. That must have been the first time we were riding in it in the snow. New tires are in order, though they are supposed to be all season.

I cleared half a foot of heavy snow earlier this week. With the warm wind, the driveway is almost dried out. The weatherguy promised 8" today, but he's a lying bastard so far.

Done. Holy hell is this set-up wonderful. Streaming 4K content from the NAS to Nvidia Sheild/Apple4K/AmazonFireTV is fucking beautiful. Merry Christmas to me.
 
man, i was so psyched over noticing that hudsonville ice cream had pistachio, but holy shit is that mediocre. also, b&j's has ruined me for pistachio ice cream without actual whole pistachios. i'll gladly pay a buck less for less than half the amount just for that.

I started adding extra pistachios when I get ice cream. The salted ones are perfect in it.
 
I'm thinking about bacon wrapped parsnips and carrots on the grill.


We are doing a Cuban Pork Loin with some coconut rice and a radish salad tonight, but a wee starter of bacon wrapped oysters done on a super hot grill, my daughter’s new favourite oyster dish, will start things off. They take just a few minutes, while the loin is resting.

I gotta say, she is becoming a pretty good shucker too.
