OJ being Old Journo, not the old ex-wife killer.
My third grandson will be born in a few hours, either tonight or tomorrow morning. So far everything looks great as far as a healthy birth goes and I look forward to holding the little fellow in my arms and spending a whole lot of time with him.
Here's a secret I'll share with you: When I was younger I spent way too much time working and not enough time with my kids. I am not going to make that mistake as a grandparent.
I've been spending a lot of hours with my two grandsons, ages 7 and 4, and will find plenty of time with my newest. I'll post a pic of proud grandpa with the boy one of these days.
OK, now that I've made you puke, let's get back to the business of shouting at each other instead of accomplishing something productive with our time.

Congratulations, even though you had nothing to do with it. Recently. ;)

Good on you for the time you spend with the wee ones. My granddad was a big (mostly) positive influence in my life. He wasn't as "hung up" as my dad was.

Turns out we're just alike.

Perhaps, one day, I can have the same experience as you.

Something productive like this?

How many black/brown Litsters are just too dumb to get ID?

Congratulations, OldJourno.

Enjoy your very special Thanksgiving Day.

Long, long night for Mom and Dad (Mom mostly, as the mothers here well know), followed by some hustle and a bit of an emergency this morning. The baby had an uneven heart rate and wasn't moving down so they performed a quick C-section that was pretty much over before I heard about it.
I was just wrapping up a quick third prayer when my phone gave the text alert ding and a picture of my new grandson appeared on the screen. Four hours later I was holding him in my arms.
We're going back to visit tomorrow and maybe all of them can come back home with us on Thanksgiving Day. We all live in the same town. That would make the day extra special.

Congrats, dude. You were somewhat Old before, now this makes it official. :D

It must be nice to be a grandparent -- you can have all the fun playing with the kids, and then hand them back to their parents when it's time to change them or discipline them or whatever.

You know what would be the best birthday gift for him?

Universal Healthcare so he never has to worry about a “ pre-existing condition”.

Grandson and daughter-in-law minutes he was born. I love how he's looking at her.

*Sorry, Dad/Husband said he didn't want the pic on line.

Not fishing for compliments on my beautiful grandson or anything, but I did post the pic a few hours ago ...
