The crook who is now acting Attorney General

Absent the "advice and consent" of the Senate, Whitaker is merely a bureaucrat. PTO, scheduling, FMLA, blah and blah.

Someone pointed out today that ANY federal trial or investigation or prosecution can now be contested as being illegal and illegitimate because we have a fake and illegally installed AG.

The first question has to be "In the absence of a senate approval is Whitakers appointment legal, and can he instruct anybody to do anything."

It would be beyond wonderful if Rosenstein could tell him to get on his bike. ;)

A former Acting Solicitor General was one among many who pointed that out. I think Whitaker will be there just long enough to attempt to obstruct the investigation and get fitted for a jump suit.

The question is that, in this atmosphere of Republican congressional coconspiracy, who's going to put the skids on this in the next seven weeks? The eventual outcome seems pretty obvious if the wheels don't come off the bus entirely before January. Trump's way over the edge of obstruction of justice from every angle. And he couldn't more clearly be waving his "I am a crook and a Russian-owned traitor" hand.

One really can't see Trump thinking that far ahead.

I just watched Trump's press gaggle before he went to France, looked to me like he was throwing Whittaker under the bus already.

One minute he knows the guy, the next minute he doesn't even know the guy. What's up with that? I'm thinking the indications of dementia are starting to pile up.

Being part of an "Advisory Board' is NOT 'sitting on the board.' That is NOT a defense of Whittaker, merely an observation of fact. For all you know he's as much a victim as the patent applicants.

I once had dinner with Meyer Lansky. It was quite by accident but does that make me a member of the mob? All in all it was a pleasant meal with pleasant conversation.

The sooner Trump names a replacement, the better.

A) Whitaker was paid by the scam company
B) He apparently did legal work for the scam company
C) He threatened legal action against someone who was going to report the scam company to the Better Business Bureau.

Sure sounds like a victim to me.

The thing with Whitaker is the same as with Kavanaugh.

If he wanted to just appoint a crony as acting AG, there must be dozens of options available. Many who would have had much more appearance of being impartial. But no, he appoints someone who is mostly known as a partisan anti Mueller pundit on television.

Same thing as with Kavanaugh. There must be dozens of qualified conservative judges out there. But he picks one with loads of political baggage - and that's before the whole rapey thing came into light.

It's either deliberate - he wants the headlines and think they play well for him politically. Or he's a combination of stupid and uncontrollable by his handlers.

Sadly I believe it is based in his reality star history. Controversy = ratings and there is no such thing as bad publicity.
