Team Trump VS Team Sanity

Complete polarization.

Choose one team, or the other.

Choose to support and enable Team Trump, no matter what.

Or, choose Team Sanity, and support facts, truth, and proof.

President Obama kept it at a civil level, even when tested by Info-tainment crazies masquerading as legitimate news media outlets.

If you are on Team Trump, it is a given that the thin slice of wiggle room, due to the complicated-ness of reality, language, and view-points, will be exploited.

Team Trump is fighting a war on many fronts. Team Trump is at war with the whole world. Team Trump seems to be a system of frenemies, even within the White House.

After all, it was a hostile take over of the established Republican party. The Republican party was ratfucked from within.

It began when the Republican party became the Party of No.

Is that not the point of Team Trump ?

"Be best at saying No!"

An altered video at the center of a legal matter-

Jim Acosta did not attack, harm, or "molest" the WH aide. He was concentrating on addressing Orange tRump during a rare press conference.

She was below eye level while she waited for her opportunity. She could have sucker punched him, if she chose to.

She had the element of surprise on her side.

Just before she popped up to attack him, she wore the expression of someone that is about to do something they know is wrong.

She went in so quickly, Jim did not have time to stop moving his arm. There is a shot of her facial expression, as she moved in. She reflexively closed her eyes tightly, she flinched, and moved her head away from his hand, even as she moved in to make a grab. His hand was still moving at her face level.

He was completing a thought, an action of speaking, and expressing himself physically, and anticipating the action of responding to his adversary, when she physically interrupted him. He was halfway though a cycle, because he was halfway through completing a question.

What would someone do, in order to pull off something sneaky ? Most of them create a distraction. Concentrating on asking a sitting President one of the most important questions during this period in history would certainly be attention grabbing.

Jim said", Excuse me," as soon as he was abruptly awakened to her presence as their arms met in midair. He was moving his arm in a reasonably gentle rate. As soon as his consciousness registered her presence he bent his body backwards.

What if hand had a knife in it ?

She did not fall over because of the strength of the blow.

"...a side-by-side video comparison by Slate's Aymann Ismail shows Acosta's hand touching the intern slightly faster in the White House version of the video than in a clip posted by NBC, suggesting Acosta's arm was sped up."

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, where did you get that video clip, that you included in your tweet ?

They believe the video (Sarah Huckabee) Sanders released has been subtly altered. (CNN said the video was "manipulated.")

The motion of Jim Acostas's arm was speeded up artificially, to make his natural movement seem violent and harmful. Sarah Huckabee Sanders chose to make the altered video available to the public, and be presented as the original truthful video.

Then SHS used the distorted, desecrated, mutilated truth, to support an action, a punishment based on a lie.

Huckabee Sanders and the White House have not responded to HuffPost’s request for comment, but doubled down on her comments on Thursday afternoon, saying in a statement: “The question is: did the reporter make contact or not? The video is clear, he did. We stand by our statement.”

Yes, the White House press office is sharing a manipulated video that makes it appear that Acosta was menacing the intern when he was not and did not. The intern reached over Acosta to grab the microphone while he was trying to ask another q and Acosta tried to pull away

The video has been doctored

White House uses doctored video to justify stripping CNN reporter Jim Acosta’s press credentials

Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders claimed Jim Acosta attacked an aide trying to take the mic from him.

"doctored video"

The Indepedent’s analysis of the doctored editing describes the video as being frozen for three frames the moment before Acosta’s hand comes down on the aide’s arm.

@rafaelshimunov
1) Took @PressSec Sarah Sanders' video of briefing
2) Tinted red and made transparent over CSPAN video
3) Red motion is when they doctored video speed
4) Sped up to make Jim Acosta's motion look like a chop
5) I've edited video for 15+ years
6) The White House doctored it

White house press video versus NBC footage. It certainly does look like they've doctored it to make it look more violent. I also like how the White house one is gloomier colours to make it more sinister.

The Republican Party became the party of greed, intellectual-laziness, irresponsibility and theocratic leanings.

Newt Gingrich lost his position as House Speaker when he got caught engaging in money-laundering, however, he's still considered a voice in the party, and is a constant presence on Fox "news" Channel, giving the Republicans advice.

Rush Limbaugh calls for LESS civility and LESS cooperation between the two major political parties, and yet he's been one of their most listened-to (if unofficial) leaders for decades.

Bryan Fischer keeps openly calling for America to be turned into a Christian theocracy, and despite the fact that this would be a BLATANT VIOLATION OF THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION, Republicans keep going to Bryan Fischer and seeking his endorsement when they run for political office.

Massachusetts is an odd place. The Invasion from Europe had a start, here. History hangs over Boston's neck. A blessing and a curse. See Historic Boston, excuse us, while we sweep some of the ugly parts of human history under a rug.

The city's lifeblood is low cost labor. We are packed to the rafters with people and we are building on a tiny piece of land.We are a seaport, we are a hub, we are both internationally cosmopolitan and poisonously provincial.

As you might have noticed, we tend to have Republicans dominating the business sphere. Someone has to ride herd and divide the spoils. Mayor Tom Menino kept the peace as best that he could. This new crop of "leaders" seems to be more opportunistic, than in the past.

I, myself could have never believed America could have sunk to this level. FFS, our governor supported a Trumpist on the Massachusetts ticket. I view the outright rejection of Trump's offering as a step too far, and dangerous. Massachusetts is hanging on by a thread, as it is. The country was flooded with cash from Trump, but the evidence is not there. It is because the same old rules about wealth are still in operation- "Our private wealth is what we declare it to be."

Meanwhile, Republican election campaigns were spending in a outrageously slavish way.

Someone has made some stark decisions, and they are not favoring the middle class, the lower middle class, or the lower class.

what techie guru would not know this fact ?

The Jim Acosta Microphone Video

This video analysis by BuzzFeed News demonstrates what the GIF conversion process does to video. While it's not technically "sped up" by intent, it effectively is in practice. The video-to-GIF conversion removes frames from the source material by reducing the frame rate. The GIF-making tool GIF Brewery, for example, typically reduces source video to 10 frames per second. Raw, televised video typically has a frame rate of 29.97 frames per second.

When frames drop out, the video appears jumpier. Acosta's arm seems to move faster. Everything accelerates.

(gsgs comment- But, why those crucial frames in particular, and not other non-essential frames ?)

What does Paul Joseph Watson of @PrisonPlanet have to with the GIF that was created ?

Watson, however, categorically denies doctoring the video. He told BuzzFeed News that the video was "not edited - it's just zoomed in." He also explained that he took the original footage directly from a GIF posted to the Twitter account of the website the Daily Wire.

Watson's defense is an issue of semantics — that he altered the video but did not "doctor" it to show something that wasn't there. Unfortunately, establishing just how the video was changed is complicated. The original video file was created by Watson from a GIF file that the Daily Wire tweeted. It's not out of the realm of possibility that the image was distorted by that process. More importantly, as previously noted, the process of converting videos to GIFs often results in frame loss from the original video file. (In the case of the Daily Wire GIF, that means there are likely frames missing from the original CSPAN video it was made from.)

For some on the far-right, the clip is an example of media malfeasance and knee-jerk reactions. For others on the left and in the press, it's an example of a shameless administration working to establish an alternate reality. There's no agreement and plenty of confusion. Perhaps, some argue, this is all just a distraction from the real concern, which is the Trump White House's flagrant destruction of crucial norms. The truth is muddied and the clip and its attendant controversy become the latest chapter in the "choose your own reality" crisis story. Welcome to the dystopia.

gsgs comment- Simple- The original recording has everything. Raw, untouched, un-altered.

yikes

Even NPR and PBS have registered the fact that the original video footage was altered.

Right On Schedule, Another 'Brooks Brothers Riot' In Florida

Florida Is A Giant Mess Again And Lawsuits Are Flying Ahead Of Possible Recounts

Republicans say local officials have committed “fraud,” while Democrats say the state is planning to undercount young voters and racial minorities

Two nationally significant statewide races, the contests for US Senate and governor, have transfixed the country’s attention in a state plagued by years of partisan litigation over how votes are counted in the days after elections.

Oops! Broward County Didn’t Make the Recount Deadline After All

“Basically, I just worked my ass off for nothing.”

NOVEMBER 15, 2018

Florida secretary of state. Joe D’Alessandro, director for election planning and development, announced more than two hours after the 3 p.m. deadline Thursday that the county had uploaded its results two minutes late—and the state had rejected them.

But the snafu won’t change the basic process. Because the margin in the US Senate election is below a quarter of a percent, it still trigger a hand recount, which incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson is hoping will erase his deficit. The hand recount will begin Friday at 7 a.m.

The Democratic Underground gang has presented me with a vision of horror.

Now, that Trump's operatives have split open the nation's national parks to exploitation, how long will we be waiting to see the Trump version of Mt. Rushmore ?

Someone had the bright idea of sculpting an American monument out of a mountain- Mount Rushmore is a magnificent tribute to American leaders.

Presidents George Washington (1732–1799), Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826), Theodore Roosevelt (1858–1919), and Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865) had their faces carved onto the monument.

They were not perfect, but they certainly tried to do the best that they could.

The new monument, (who will pay for it ? Mexico ?) to the grotesque creatures that have deformed America.

1. Trump insists on being first (he is the most horrible.)
2.
3.
4.

Suggestions ?

Brett Kavanaugh has an odor that reeks to the skies.
Mitch McConnell is willing to double cross anyone.
Trump should remain stuck to Jeff Sessions for eternity

Just a gathering of the Trump family would cover it all, I think.

Jim Carrey, pulling no punches-

"These are not people you can deal with. You cannot be bipartisan with a criminal. A rapist needs to be removed, not negotiated with. These people are raping our system, they’re destroying it right in front of us … This corrupt Republican Congress that was … These people have to be removed from our system because they’re bad for us. Trump is a melanoma, and anybody that covers for him, including Sarah Sanders, is putting makeup on it. It shows that there’s a deeper problem in this country, and that problem is greed.”

Jim Carrey? Isn't he that comedian that had some kind of mental breakdown a few years ago and verbally molested Emma Stone?

Specialists in the U.S. intelligence and military communities understand the power of information warfare to divide, disorient and demoralize the public. The Army Cyber Institute at the U.S. Military Academy has published a graphic novel warning against it. But few others have paid much attention, and many who do still blame cognitive bias and social media.

The rise of Donald Trump brought a turning point. He and his allies in conservative media and Republican politics seized upon Russian-style disinformation techniques and applied them to domestic politics. In his 2016 campaign, Trump lied so frequently and flagrantly that the media couldn’t keep up and the public lost track, a favorite Russian tactic known as the fire hose of falsehood.

With the #StopTheSteal campaign, the turning point became a point of no return. In April 2020, Trump launched a propaganda onslaught against mail-in balloting. Much as the Russians had used Jade Helm 15 to test their disinformation methods, Trump used the attack on mail-in balloting to organize the propaganda campaign he would launch if he lost the election. The already-high rate of Trump’s falsehoods ticked up sharply. After he lost, he and his allies unleashed a flood of exaggerations, lies and conspiracy theories through the White House, conservative media, social media and even the courts.

#StopTheSteal is not merely Trump’s way of being a sore loser or clinging to relevance (though it is those things). It is the most audacious disinformation campaign ever attempted against Americans by any actor, foreign or domestic. And it has been devastatingly effective. According to a recent Ipsos-Reuters poll, the majority of Republicans think the 2020 election was stolen, and almost half of independents either think the election was rigged or are unsure. Vladimir Putin could only dream of creating so much cynicism, doubt and distrust.

The “big lie” is a wake-up call, and not just about Trump. Even today, most scholars and commentators talk about America’s rising levels of polarization, extremism, and distrust of institutions and expertise as if they were natural disasters or products of generalized forces such as social media quirks, institutions’ failings and individuals’ gullibility. While those explanations have validity, they miss the more immediate threat: For years, Americans have been targeted with epistemic warfare — that is, with attacks on the credibility of the mainstream media, academia, government agencies, and other institutions and professionals we rely on to keep us collectively moored to facts. Those doing the targeting are nameable individuals and organizations, including Trump, conservative media outlets, Republican politicians, anti-vaccine groups and Russia’s Internet Research Agency.

Since epistemic warfare has proved its mettle so spectacularly in U.S. politics, it is likely here for good. Measures may allow us to fight back, such as revamping social media and teaching media literacy. But our primary means of defense is to be awake to the scope and origin of the threat. The first step toward winning the war on truth is to accept that we are in one.
