Is there a way to make stories into a series if their titles don't start with the same text?

I wrote a holiday themed story at Christmas last year, and I wanted to do a sequel for Thanksgiving this year, but I don't want the new story's title to start with Merry Christmas.

The title is the only way the site can detect a series. PM Laurel and see what she can do.

I have two stories that I ultimately want to be part of an anthology. When I asked her if there was some way to keep them together she simply renamed the second story. The first story was "The Third Ring" and the second was originally named "Tamsin of Sky Village." Laurel renamed the second story to "The Third Ring -- Tamsin of Sky Village."

In your case you might want to do something like rename the first story and keep the name of the second story consistent.

Alright. If I do write another story in the series, I'll ask Laurel about renaming the first story. Thanks!

Another option: I've had that issue, and what I do is have a note at the top explaining what the series is and a link or links to other stories related to it.

See this as an example; it has such a note referring to other stories (the links are dark blue). That way the readers don't have to hunt around if they are interested (or maybe they aren't interested; it's their choice!)

I know a bit of HTML so I can put in my own links. If not, you can put a note to the administrator on the submission page and they will do it for you.

Well, shoot.

That answers the question I had. I am working on the third installment of a trilogy that began with Into the Attic and continued with Out of the Attic.
I noticed after the story posted that even though I had put into the 'note to editor' field that the second story was a sequel, it was in no way linked to the first story.

I had posted a story and sequel once before--It Had to be Done and It Had to be Done Again--and those two are linked. I was unaware that the title was such a key element.

Yes, the title is central to any story groupings - your story page lists everything in alphabetical order, so it follows your first two titles were separated from each other.

It's also essential, if you plan more than ten chapters, to start with 01, 02, 03, so when you get to 10, 11 the numbering stays in sequence.
