Just got the ping from my mom, who got a ping from my friend’s mom.

He and his family were there for the Saturday morning service, but they are not among the deceased or injured.

I don’t know if anyone in his family (him, wife, 3 kids, a pre-teen and two teens) were direct witnesses to the violence.

There’s a reason my grandparents, after fleeing Poland, stayed in the United States when Israel was founded.

Edit: although some extended family did move, and my grand-uncles of my mother’s side (twin, red-headed, 6’4 microbiologists, I shit you not) moved to Israel in the 1980s to lead Israel’s anti-germ warfare program. (At least, I hope it was just anti. My uncles were pretty schtum on their government work.)

OK, great. Let's work on banning all semi auto and full auto guns for civilian use, even if it takes an amendment or a reshuffling of the Supreme Court. Eventually these guns will get much harder to obtain easily, as will the magazines. Later, when some idiot starts shooting at a mass of people with a single action, we can beat the crap out of him while he is reloading or grabbing another single action.
