Trump is his own minister of misinformation. He can spread bullshit like no one else.

Who is or should be the voice of opposition, Obama, Biden, Clinton, the chair of the D's, the minority leaders in congress?

Obama's intelligent, dignified message only resonates with some and probably much less than it did when he was elected. Biden and Clinton are yesterday. Schumer and Pelosi are ineffective.

I think the voice of opposition should come from the chair of the Democratic party but that guy is so uninspiring that I don't even know his name. The D's need a dynamic no nonsense voice with balance. Someone like former R strategist Steve Schmidt.

It shouldn't be a voice of opposition, it should be a voice of leadership, dignity and sense; anything the USA is lacking at this moment. A country of how many millions of people would not be able to provide such a person who could fill that void?

You described Obama, but I don't think that approach will be successful. Obama speaks in complete sentences. Trump's success is added his use of bullet points. We need someone with balance.

All of the above. Just because Trumpettes are zombies doesn't mean that everyone else can't point to them and laugh.

I hear that but I'm wondering who speaks to the middle, independent voters, left or right of center. No one can reach the base and I don't suggest trying. My point is that he is pumping out propaganda by himself on a daily basis. He is saying things that are flat out untrue. I think that someone with intelligence and charisma needs to speak on behalf of anyone opposed to Trumpism.

Jim Webb.

He was a Republican based largely on foreign policy but falls a touch left of center economically and shifted parties. If Rockefeller Republicans were still a thing he'd be a good fit for the label. He's a former SECNAV and highly decorated Marine officer that could hammer away at Trump's mercurial foreign policy. He's got no real shot of electoral success if he were ever to run for President again so he's basically a free agent that can ignore any backlash.

The big problem being that the left's base wants no part of him. A part of that big problem is that the major opposition PACs that formed to oppose Trump are dominated by people from the Progressive wing of the party and they have competing desires. Opposing Trump isn't the only motivation. The intra-party dynamics are part of what seems to drive their actions. Appealing to the center doesn't help them use Trump to pull the Overton window left.

Funny that you should mention a former Republican because I've been thinking that Steve Schmidt would make a great representative of what I believe.

Well they are. Only those who agree with them are listening, though.

Jim Webb is an opportunist and grand stander who has burned too many bridges to be viable in politics. I've seen Jim Webb up close and personal and I wouldn't trust him with the plastic spoons at a picnic.
