Elizabeth Warren proves her ancestry; embarrasses shit out of Trump & Trumpsters

Yeah, you tell'um! We don't ridicule that bullshit here!

Bless your heart, you tried.

Yes, religion can be funny sometimes. It's funny because what you and everyone laugh about is the pomp, not the faith.

That's not what the little fuckwad did. Not even close.

Ridiculing someone for having faith in their origins is like telling them they have no heart, no love, no soul. That they are somehow less than human or less worthy.

You have faith that your partner or parents/siblings love you. No one seriously believes that your parents created you, raised you, poured all the time/money/affection into you because you were merely a burden or duty. Or that your partner is just doing what's necessary in your relationship.

Those people love you. And you believe it in your heart of hearts. That's faith. And no one has the right to tell you to disbelieve in your faith that your family loves you.

Yet here we are on Lit, where the "supposedly" tolerant Left has a major appearance, talking about how it's ok to disavow an entire population's belief in their origins. Not just a single individual, an ENTIRE POPULATION.

That's not funny, it's atrocious.

If you're dumb enough to believe in a zombie ghost in the sky, you deserve ridicule.

It's not about what they believe. It's that you deny them the opportunity to exercise that belief through shaming them as a whole.

If you require faith that your family loves you, that might be saying more about the perception of family than about faith.

My family doesn't have to show me they love me for me to have faith that they do. I believe they love me even when they aren't around or giving me affection. Faith is inside ME, not in their acts. They don't have to show it, I know it.

If you believe otherwise, it is not my perceptions that need examined. It's yours.

Laughing at people isn't denying them fuck all, Tim.

Uh, that didn't happen here.

Let's see if I can paraphrase what you originally said that set off Tim. Because it looked to me like you were saying it's not good scholarship to use a faith statement to justify scientific fact. And that's completely true.

Well no wonder HisRapy took umbrage! Typical Cherokee reaction.

Really? So if someone who purported to be a biologist advanced a young Earth creationist model as a scientific model, and justified that model on biblical exegesis, you would see nothing wrong with that??

Awww, bless your heart!! Poor baby, it's obvious you ain't from around here. Here, let me help - look up at the top of the page where it says the name of the forum you're currently reading and posting at. It says this is the General Board. Say it with me ... The General Board. There, I knew you could!

Dude, this is the wild west. Nothing is sacred. Well, nothing except what Laurel uses the banhammer for, which is not much! The GeeBee has been this way forever. If you're that tenderhearted about your beliefs and views, you don't belong here.

Suck it up, buttercup, and put on your big boy pants, or go find the Playground.

Timmeh had a VERY bad day here yesterday.
He's hurting.

p.s. Are you going to be here on Tuesday? I'll be celebrating Ishmael's one year "banniversary"! There will be cake and party favors.

That's great. Why are you mentioning that in *this* thread?
