How do you know it would have been leaked? If she sent it off to ancestry.com or whatever surely no one there would have noticed it in the throngs of $99 orders. In fact she could have submitted under a fake name if she just wanted the info for herself, out of personal curiosity. It was her plan all alone to release it, and it was a bad one.

I've already explained my rationale for my opinion. She's an incredibly intelligent woman. Pretty sure I have posted my admration of her in the past, right here at Lit . I don't think she calculated that releasing her results was the right move politically.

I don't think it was stupid, so, no, I don't have to admit any such thing. When I was running a search on newspaper headlines on this, I came up with a couple of years worth of questioning why she didn't submit to a DNA test. Now she's done so, and it surfaced enough Native American to explain why the connection has been passed down to her in family history. Trump certainly can't claim an American background any further back than his paternal grandfather. She can just answer it all with "I'm more American than you are."

She satisfied the challenge to reasonable folks--of course not to the Trumpettes. That's never going to happen. But now it doesn't need to be to the majority. Whatever the effects, they are short term. She a strong spokesperson for reason. If you can't hang with her in the long term, that's too bad for you. I'm sure the majority will be there with her.
