A heavy law enforcement presence was seen at the private home of U.S. Sen. Susan Collins Monday after “a suspicious envelope” sent to her West Broadway residence, police said.
Police responded to Collins’ house at 1:39 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, to investigate a report of the envelope that had been delivered sometime earlier that day, said Sgt. Wade Betters of the Bangor Police Department. He declined to describe why the envelope was deemed suspicious and deferred questions to the U.S. Capitol Police, the primary investigating agency.
