Of all the stories you have written and submitted to Lit, which story brought you the most joy from writing? Granted, the one chapter that brought me the most personal joy is neither the highest rating story I have nor the one with the most comments. As a matter of fact, it isn’t even the first chapter in its respected series.

I keep asking myself what it is about that one particular chapter I like so much: the mood, the emotion, the tenderness, the sensuality, the overall feel to the chapter, or my writing ability, etc. I shouldn’t worry about it, though. Years from now, if I still submit stories, I may find another story taking its place. It’s doubtful. Putting so much time, effort, and passion into one single chapter, however, has its rewards yet drawbacks as well.

Honestly, I may never know exactly why I like one particular story I’ve written more than the rest. I just know that it is part of a series, a period in my life where I felt great joy - joy that I was able to convey and share with others.

I'd have to say the story I enjoyed writing the most was my first one. For a long time I'd read stories on Lit and thought "I could do better". The excitement of actually trying to write etotica for the first time, and the exploration, and discovery that I could actually pull it off... That was a joy. I think each successive story has, to a small extent, been an effort to recapture that first experience. I think my later stories have been better, more intelligent, more challenging, and more success, but you never forget your first

i have two. "a ghost of a chance" and "the mask of pan". they are both longer stories that took me a while to write and both were experimental for me. they were fun to write and both of them sprang fully formed into my mind.

I might agree but my first erotica one is lost. I enjoyed writing it but I could never have submitted it to Literotica because it started with the hero's abuse as a child. I started it in the early 1980s.

I tried rewriting it and I still have the 12th draft but it is nothing like the original. It is still unsuitable for Literotica.

The Bridesmaids' Revenge was my first posted to Literotica in 2002 and was already about five years old then. I couldn't and wouldn't write it now. I have a soft spot for it but I can't rewrite or edit it. I'm not the same person now.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I have one story I'd like to delete because it isn't good enough. I keep all of them though as a record of what I've done. I love my humour stories but repeated humour lacks surprise and a reread is never as good as the first read.

I like my issues stories, the issues being brain injury, incontinence and aspergers that have been accepted so far.

It may seem strange but I really do like them all because they are all different. I experiment with writing styles and wonder about the different personas I was able to adopt. I find it helps me with my other writing. Every time I look at them I choose a different one to read. I can't honestly say one is the best.

That's like picking between my kids.

I think Oscar's Place or The Third Ring have to qualify as my favorite.

I wrote the original version of "Oscar's Place" in 2009 as a chapter in a long novel. I lost the work to a disk crash, but I've recycled some of the ideas in it. I liked that chapter enough that I rewrote it to create "Oscar's Place," with different main characters and an epilogue. I followed it up two years later with a spin-off story, Love is Enough, which I also adore even though its earned very little attention.

I read "The Man Who Married the Moon" (a Native American folk tale) years ago and, for reasons I couldn't really explain, I wanted to write a SciFi story based on it. It took me three or four years to come up with "The Third Ring," and I still weep when I read it.

So what if it's largely non-erotic. I found the story so personally rewarding that I wrote a second SciFi story (Tamsin of Sky Village) using another Native American theme, and I'd like to write an entire anthology of such stories.

It was satisfying to get into my first contest. I noticed the Summer Lovin' contest not long after I joined and I had an idea for an entry. Even though I didn't win anything, I was pleased to be able to finish the story as I envisioned it and get into the competition.

The most fun was Back of Bourke - https://www.literotica.com/s/back-of-bourke It's a love it or hate it story, though.

The most 'well, that turned out better than I expected' was Payback. Writing it was fucking hard. I had to keep walking away and/or deleting passages.

My 'I'm genuinely surprised it rates so highly' story is Because I'm Yours. It's okay and all, but not great imho.

So many to chose from...

There are several... first on the list, is Warriors Choice I really enjoyed writing that one. The readers seem to have enjoyed it also.

Second would have to be Echo Ridge Bed & Breakfast... the three chapters I have up now and the remaining three I have yet to finish.

Last but not least is the Fraternal Twins chapters, all of them were fun to write and all were loved by the readers.

There are a couple of others that I enjoyed writing, in fact too many to mention. Go here, if you want to see them all. ;)

I'm also working on a fairly long story currently along with others, that I am enjoying a lot. I haven't post any of it yet as I'm about a third done and want to get closer to finishing it. It will be a long one as I'm at 40,000 words now.

The most fun? The most recent which I haven't decided if I'll ever add to or just leave the bastards hanging.

My favorite story to write probably was my first one -- first to write though second to publish, In The Hallway. It's the most perfectly balanced of my stories in its equal presentation and development of the male and female protagonists. I enjoyed working with the conceit that governed how they interacted with each other as and after they met: he could never ask her a question, and she had to say yes to whatever he demanded of her, and neither one of them was comfortable or familiar with acting this way. I enjoyed the way it ended too. Readers seemed to agree, because it's always been my highest-rated, though not most-viewed, story.

The story of mine I like the most -> Sonder Not my highest rated, but I liked the concept behind it. Admittedly has too little sex to be loved by most Literotica readers.

The story of mine I had the most fun writing -> My upcoming "In A Sunburned Country" contest story. I finally found an outlet for my piles of useless knowledge about cricket. I love the sport and have never had anyone to discuss it with outside family and a few select friends. So, this is where all that goes.

Well, my favorite characters are Emily from the Hot Tub series (which includes "Summertime Sex Ed," since it introduces her) and Ginny from "Daughters of Priapus" and its sequels. They're both versions of what I wished I'd been.

The one I worked the hardest on was "The Path of Pain" since it's so outside the usual realm of erotica. I was surprised at the positive response, since when I posted it on another site, it got a depressingly low score.

My current favorite, though, is "The Pond."
