I've got an idea for a contest and I'd like people's thoughts on it. The contest would be "Pets Are A Blessing" and the stories should have a pet that figures largely in the plot. Some examples:
* A man and woman meet at a dog park or while they are walking their dogs
* A woman invites a friend over to help her put her cat into the cat carrier to go to the vet. They spend the evening chasing the cat around the house and they wind up in the bedroom...
* A male blacksmith shoes a woman's horse and she shows him appreciation for a job well done
* An exotic pet owner hooks up with the vet who cares for the exotic pet
* John would have never known his wife was cheating on him if Rover hadn't...

Lots and lots of people have pets, but I can't think of a story on LitE that mentions a pet.

I remember one in which a cat (Maine Coon to be specific) figured prominently. I have a series that features a mare.

As a contest, the idea doesn't do much for me.

I have several pet-centered stories under the sr71plt account. I think having a pet as a major character in a story ups the story’s rating. These two have been well received here:

“For the Love of Pete”: https://www.literotica.com/s/for-the-love-of-pete (which has an editor's choice Green E)

“Saving Sadie”: https://www.literotica.com/s/saving-sadie

A marketplace anthology of stories with dogs as major characters (habu’s Canine Connections) has sold well.

Make them 'were-pets' and people will come out of the woodwork so they could write their poorly masked bestiality

I have a story posted here that includes a pet.
It's just a short story and is the first one I submitted here and now when I go back and read it sometimes I cringe at how bad it is :)

I think a contest like that would be fun. I actually have something I started that I've been wanting to finish that would work. About a girl(woman) pet sitting for her dad's friend.

Somewhere, there’s a pun here screaming “every dog has his day.”🌹Kant
