Kreepy Kavanaugh

Kavanaugh never called for an investigation into any of the allegations against himself, not once. He was asked repeatedly if he would ask/support the FBI reopening their investigation and he certainly didn’t say yes. He would look at Grassley and say I support what the committee wants to do.

And if you were being accused of something that you didn't do by someone who had no evidence followed by others who were making outrageous claims as days went by, would you support an investigation that only provides a summery of what a "witnesses" said with no conclusion allowing the press more time to smear you and most important your family name?

I think not.

They should investigate until they drag the truth out of Ford...

And, then, yes, we can all move on.

Yes, peach. I would expect a full vetting of myself if I was looking at being seated on the highest court in the land. I would welcome clearing my name. Some folks are investigated ad nauseam. I can’t imagine who, but. I am certain that I recall that happening. Someone so cool under presure.

This is not the new normal, none of this is normal. He is a deeply flawed man. He’s been shown to have lied under oath about things large and small.

Hey, haircut, what happened to Ford's abject fear of flying? that she had to have more time to drive to DC?
Oh wait, we learned that she has flown all over the Pacific and makes regular trips back home to visit her family.
And, she flew to DC after assuring the world that she couldn't.

People fly all the time that have a fear of flying, silly.

hey, frisco. be an adult and quote me since it's obvious that you read my every post. people who have a fear of flying doesn't mean that they don't fly, that's just a leap of faith on your part. how many doctors do you know that throw away their lives to stick it to a drunk lying frat boy?

This is directed towards people who were teenagers prior to the mid-'80s, when we first got the de facto national drinking age we have today: does anybody really believe Kavanaugh was mistaken about what the drinking age was in Maryland when he was in high school? Speaking as someone who lived in the same area right around the same time, we all knew what the drinking age was in Maryland, and in DC, and in Virginia. Some of my friends probably knew the drinking ages in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Delaware too, just in case.

If the Supreme Court thing doesn't work out, Kavanaugh ought to run for something. He wouldn't be the biggest liar to win a election recently.

He lost his Harvard gig.

That's got to sting; a Yale man not allowed to teach at Harvard.

Yeah, I was aware of the drinking age, but if we want to go back to that time, let's have all the facts in evidence. I routinely went out and drank with my college crowd when I was sixteen. You could walk into a liquor store and buy beer. We simply weren't as serious about the issue as we are now.

beer beer beer beer beer beer. this is the markings of an alcoholic who lied under oath.
he's not scotus material.

The issue is not underage drinking, the issue is lying about the legal drinking age. I remember when the legal age went up to 21 in Wisconsin having grown up in Chicago.

Thanks those articles was enlightening. I think though that one reason for midterm losses for the presidents party has been ignored. The simple fact (that I believe and have no proof of) is that the people think giving one party or the other total power is dangerous so they balance it out. Actually that's the way I believe it should be. I think it's way to damned dangerous to have either the Democrats or Republicans in total control of the country. If they have to fight for bills and things they want it at least keeps them busy and at best makes it something everyone can live with.

Comshaw

I agree, we aren't supposed to have a "one party government". More than that, our government seems to have been intentionally designed to be a log jam at the legislative level so that only the things that are really important are the things that get legislated upon instead of things like transgender bathrooms.

It took 3 tries to get the Civil Rights Act of 1964 passed and upheld by the SCOTUS, but we got it with bipartisan support and everyone understands the point and purpose of the law. I don't hear anyone trying to repeal it either.

We got ObamaCare in 1 shot by a "one party" government and it's been a major sticking point ever since. The D's don't like it because it's not single payer. The R's don't like it because it's government control. It is a perfect example of how our government is not supposed to work. And why.

Here's a test for anyone who thinks a law is a good law or not... would the majority of Americans, given a repeal of a specific law, continue to follow the point of the law?

IOW: Would most Americans continue to buy health insurance if ObamaCare was repealed?

Contrast that with:

Would most American's still socialize with, hire, promote, engage in business with, and so on, minority races if the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was repealed?

Ask yourself those 2 questions. Not would YOU do so, but would most American's do so. The answers you get will tell you if the law is a good law or not. And it will illustrate how a bi-cameral government is better for us than 1-party rule.

Or, at least I believe.

Chief, she addressed these Fox News smear attempts.

She says it is very very difficult for her to fly nowadays due to her fear of enclosed spaces. She did say, however, with the help of her family's unwavering support, she is able to overcome her fear at times.

I recognize how "family support" might be a foreign concept to you, given your Reservation School education and dysfunctional home life (alcoholic party girl birth squaw, father disowning you and kicking you to the curb at age 17 due to your "alternative lifestyle").

Yeah, compromise solutions make nobody 100% perfect. If only we had a monarchy or at least a one-party state, right?

Your bellowing notwithstanding, Obamacare is a textbook case of how the government IS supposed to act. It passed the House. It passed the Senate. It was signed into law by the President. And it was upheld not once but twice by the Supreme Court.

The Republicans don't like that. Tough shit. They have a majority in the Senate. They have a majority in the House. They have a nominal Republican in the White House who swore a blood oath to repeal Obamacare. They've had almost two years to accomplish this.....and yet Obamacare is still the law of the land.

So, bottom line: Fuck your feelings, you snowflake.

Legal age in Connecticut September 1985 was 21. Brett wasn’t drinking beer in the New Haven bar.

Yes of course, that would have been illegal.

Wouldn't it be simpler if we just instituted and asshole clause? If enough people deem you an asshole - you're out.Granted it seems like a higher bar than simply considering unconvicted sexual predators above the low bar, but perhaps a simpler hearing process. We would have a lot of seats to fill.

I'm now imagining a trap door beneath the seat. Once asshole status is deemed by enough people, a buzzer goes off and the nominee/candidate/asshole is dropped down a shoot to who knows where. Suggestions?

Kavanaugh Was Questioned by Police After Bar Fight in 1985

NEW HAVEN — As an undergraduate student at Yale, Brett M. Kavanaugh was involved in an altercation at a local bar during which he was accused of throwing ice on another patron, according to a police report.

“On one of the last occasions I purposely socialized with Brett, I witnessed him respond to a semi-hostile remark, not by defusing the situation, but by throwing his beer in the man’s face,” Mr. Ludington said in the statement. Mr. Ludington, a professor at North Carolina State University, said he came forward because he believed Judge Kavanaugh had mischaracterized the extent of his drinking at Yale.

I'm sorry that my post disturbed your sense of social equilibrium. I hope you feel better soon.

Leland Keyser meets with FBI, doesn't back Blasey Ford's story about Kavanaugh
