Kreepy Kavanaugh

I see that the some democrats are now raising the argument that Kavanaugh must withdraw even if the FBI exonerates him because, well, he's been so rudely treated and is so angry about it that there is NO way he can be an impartial justice.

If that argument were to succeed you have seen the end to anyone ever being confirmed to the court. The formula would be set in stone, make outrageous accusations, drag the nominee and their family, and their friends through the mud, and then proclaim there can be no impartiality because of the way they were treated.

Is this new tactic an indication that the democrats knew all along that Ford was a flake? (pun intended)

If he does clear the renewed background and is confirmed I for one sure as hell hope he remembers each and every one of those sons a bitches and what they stand for.

you're absolutely right that historically there is a political swing during the mid terms to the opposite party then is in the white house. That said, most times it's a mild to moderate swing. If it goes as the Democrats expect (and I don't have the slightest clue if it will) it will be a wide, wild swing, which isn't the norm.

According to the last information I have, typically the opposition party picks up between 31 and 45 seats in mid-term elections. The Dem's need 24 to gain a majority. 31 isn't that much more than 24 so even if they DO get somewhere in the range the historic numbers suggest, it's not a "wide, wild swing" as you say it might be. (BUT watch for that to be the media headline anyway.) Especially since they are "predicted" to possibly gain as many as 44, which is still inside the historic range though most pollsters and analysts are on the fence at somewhere around 25-26 seats going to the D's.

It's being hyped and anyone who's been looking at the information can see it's being hyped. The one thing that's going to possibly affect the numbers is the fact that unpopular Presidents tend to get a higher seat turnover to the opposing party in the House. The difference between Trump, and say Roosevelt who lost 71 seats in the House, is that Roosevelt was universally disliked whereas Trump is only disliked by the Left. Should the Conservative base be energized by the current shenanigans in the House, Trump may well pick up seats.

Only the election results will tell us for sure but the "Blue Wave" meme is pure and total propaganda.

Wow:)

Have not been here in a year or so. Sitting here with no emails to catch up on, no calls to make. I was reading a WSJ article and I thought; I bet those fuckers at Lit are going bat shit crazy over this issue.

Well..... I was right:)

carry on......

I had wondered if you were going to show up since there were allegations of a girl pulling a train and that being your admitted area of expertise. You were a DEKE in college too, no?

Ha! Keeping it classy and truthful as always bro :)

Don't even know what a DEKE is man. I attended college after the Military. My frat boy days where spent on base or the dessert.

But anyway..... No one here wants to argue this outside their political box with facts so...

Doing good? Keeping off that weight still? Building a little muscle yet?

‘He Said, She Said’ Case Incredibly Difficult to Prove, Kavanaugh Allegation Even Weaker Than That.

So is it time to call her a LIAR?

Or at least being manipulated by the DUMZ?

https://freebeacon.com/politics/pro...icult-prove-kavanaugh-allegation-even-weaker/
She outlined several points as to why Ford’s allegation is weaker than a typical “he said, she said” case.

1. Dr. Ford has not offered a consistent account of when the alleged assault happen.
2. Dr. Ford has struggled to identify Judge Kavanaugh as the assailant by name.
3. When speaking with her husband, Dr. Ford changed her description of the incident to become less specific.
4. Dr. Ford has no memory of key details of the night in question–details that could help corroborate her account.
5. Dr. Ford’s account of the alleged assault has not been corroborated by anyone she identified as having attended–including her lifelong friend.
6. Dr. Ford has not offered a consistent account of the alleged assault.
7. Dr. Ford has struggled to recall important recent events relating to her allegations, and her testimony regarding recent events raises further questions about her memory.
8. Dr. Ford’s description of the psychological impact of the event raises questions.
9. The activities of congressional Democrats and Dr. Ford’s attorneys likely affected Dr. Ford’s account.

Mitchell provided details to each point using Ford’s own testimony, her polygraph test, and the letter she sent to Feinstein.
Believe the evidence, not the woman.

That's the HoR. What about the Senate?

The Senate is nearly impossible for D's to gain control. They need to gain 28 and R's only need to keep all their seats (or net gain 8 seats) for control.

Here's an article that explains who is up for re-election and who is at risk of losing their seat and why.

So where did that info come from?

Not really. Other candidates under fire have acted . . . well, Supreme Court justice like. He didn't. Didn't even come close. And the kickers with me are that he's the only one so far screaming extreme party partisan conspiracy theory crap from a written, prepared statement and because he has repeatedly lied and lied and lied under oath. Not that I have a vote. Your argument just doesn't hold water with me. This isn't like any other candidate for a job he's not entitled to just because he is who he is has acted in public.

His demeanor is understandable and justified. The Democrats are executing an intentional character assasination. Everyone agrees on point. There was no reason to treat him the way they did. I question the demeanor of Dr. Ford. She seemed phony to me an I have no doubt that she is misremembering the truth.

Well, of course you do.

Republicans promise the delivery of Kavanaugh at the September 2018 Values Voters Summit

Surprise! Brett Kavanaugh FBI 'Investigation' Kinda Bullshit, Thanks To GOP And Trump

October 1, 2018

( gsgs comment-The Trump Spite House and this year's Trump enablers insist that "all our base" belong to them. They have a point, considering what the House, the Senate and the Oval office, resembles, as of late. Then, again, Trump abuses the FBI, frequently./end gsgs comment)

NBC News reports on exactly what kinds of limits have been put on the investigation:(Wonkette version, written by Evan Hurst)

No interviewing Julie Swetnick, who claims Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge facilitated drunken situations at house parties where guys would take turns sexually assaulting incapacitated girls. Swetnick, in her sworn statement, says she has corroborating witnesses.

No interviewing all the hundreds of thousands of former Kavanaugh classmates who say he's a fucking liar who lies when he says he never drank too many BEERS, even though BEERS is his stated favorite, and also the favorite of both girls and boys, SHUT UP, AMY KLOBUCHAR, DID YOU DRINK TOO MANY BEERS EVER?

No interviewing Kavanaugh's high school classmates to see A) what else they know, and B) how much he lied about what "boofing" is during Thursday's hearing. (Perhaps this is not necessary, if the FBI is capable of looking shit up in the Urban Dictionary.)

They can interview Mark Judge, but they can't ask the Safeway about the time Mark Judge worked there, which is weird since that's precisely what Christine Blasey Ford said she'd like to know, to help her pinpoint the date of the assault more precisely.

"Classy and truthful" is what I do best, old chum.

DEKE is the common shorthand for Delta Kappa Epsilon, the second most rapey fraternity in America (behind Pi Kappa Alpha of course). Rapey Kavanaugh was a DEKE at Yale.

I'm having a banner year. Love life has improved to the point where I'm rarely here at all on the weekends, which seems to have gutted my little stalker buddy Que. He's had to create "pretend Robs" to argue with. It's quite sad.

Weight is up six pounds for the year. I'd like to say it was pure muscle but it sure doesn't feel that way. Had surgery in Feb which required six weeks of physical therapy and no heavy weights for a while. Finally got the all-clear from the doctor on August 1st, but my workouts have been half-assed.
