Woodward book rocks Trump White House

The book, titled “Fear,” alleges the White House is chaotic, that it’s filled with backstabbing opportunists, and that everyone who works for the 45th president is miserable. “Fear” also alleges the president is basically losing his mind, and that top White House officials constantly work behind his back to curtail his worst impulses, including the time he supposedly instructed Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr. to plan a pre-emptive strike on North Korea.

The “book is nothing more than fabricated stories, many by former disgruntled employees, told to make the President look bad. While it is not always pretty, and rare that the press actually covers it, President Trump has broken through the bureaucratic process to deliver unprecedented successes for the American people,” press secretary Sarah Sanders said Tuesday in a White House press release.

She added, “Sometimes it is unconventional, but he always gets results. Democrats and their allies in the media understand the President’s policies are working and with success like this, no one can beat him in 2020 – not even close.”

You can't cut-n-paste into the existing thread on the new Woodward book?

Other than your appending a :) to this cut and paste what exactly makes your thread worthwile?

The fact that it's going to drive you deplorables absolutely nuts.

I know his smiley (and yours) had me wishing for a safe space. Where did you hone such devasating rhetorical weapons?

By "stuff" you meazn a single smiley to accompany your miles-esque cut-n-paste??

he's harmless like that old blind dog with one leg that barks like he has emphysema and no teeth trying to bite your kneecaps. :D

Sounds like I nicked an ankle.

You should go get that looked at, would hate to see you lose a leg to sepsis. Must really feel demeaning to have circles run around you by a one-legged blind dog... you would fare worse as a uniped, I'm sure.

Let's see what Conservative media is saying, shall we?

I wouldn’t be so willing to give Woodward the benefit of the doubt here were it not for the fact the Trump administration's response includes a large and obvious attempt to distract from the book’s more insane allegations.

Why do that if the book "is nothing more than fabricated stories"?

Personally as I said in the actual thread on this subject I find Woodward to be a fairly credible reporter he tends to source things well and he gets corroboration. I suspect the quotes are real. They may (or may well not) lack some foundation or context in sime instances, but I think the general gist of it is valid.

It's not like the world does not know that Trump is a bull in a china shop and tends to flit randomly from one interest to the other so it all seems relatively credible to me.

Nothing about the White House pushing back changes any of that. They would also just as enthusiastically push back if the quotes were entirely fabricated. Them pushing back against it isn't probative one way or the other despite the fact that you'd like to think so.

Well, I guess this is it then. When the public grasps the depths of depravity outlined in this book, I'd give Trump three, four weeks, tops, before he's tossed out on his ear.
And then he'll be indicted, but not before he's thrown in pauper's jail for impersonating a wealthy billionaire, a violation of U.S. Code.

Exactly.

This is like if Trump sat for a portrait and the media went hysterical with " White House pushes back at new painting which portrays Trump as having bad hair!!"

I'll probably read the book when I can buy it cheap but it doesn't tell anyone anything that we didn't already know about Trump before he was elected...before he was even running for office.

The Republicans in Congress are gifting Trump his very own Supreme Court justice, pledged to save him, so of course it will take a while to dislodge him. That doesn't change that he's obviously a corrupt fraud owned by the Russian government.
