Can you clarify? Either way, I suspect that the answer to your question is because uploaded pics have both a file size limitation and resolution limitation. Using a third party hosting site like imgur or dropbox will keep the file fully intact.

You would need to upload the image to a 3rd party site like imgur, dropbox, etc. and then use the relevant URL.

3rd party site is also the way to go not only because of file size limitation, but also pornography laws. Strictly speaking, if Literotica is hosting attachments of things that qualify as porn, they would need to have files on record indicating participants are of legal age. So rather than do that, they just delete any attachments that contain overly explicit material, but allow links to things hosted on 3rd party sites.
