Let's start with a disclosure, I don't believe McCain to be the Great American hero that he's being portrayed as. Yes, he served this nation and yes he was a hero for many reasons, but not Great in my estimation.

That being said, the funeral itself was an extravaganza worthy of a past president, which he was not. Way overplayed as far as I'm concerned.

It wasn't lost on me that there were more democrat politicians there than republicans. It would be interesting to know whether McCain made up the guest list prior to his death or whether the family made the decisions? Quite frankly given McCain's behavior post 2008 that answer might be a toss up.

Yet another funeral was used as a political pep rally, or bashing in this case. Once again, in my opinion a funeral is to be used to celebrate the life of the deceased, not to denigrate the live(s) of those still living. That sort of behavior in a manner detracts from the positives of the decedents life. To put it another way, when the speeches given by the speakers swerve into the negative it tends to reflect on the life/beliefs of the deceased. Why would the family want to allow that?

I bet Ishtard used the memorial as a drinking game.

Drink whenever someone talks!
Drink when the camera shows the daughter!

*thud*

McCain put Country before party, the true sign of a great American. It's easy to see why republitards hate him so much, he actually possessed the values they preach so much.

So, I guess, from your perspective the funeral looked like one of those jazz-the-minority-crazies up 2020 campaign rallies Trump holds at government expense--but not just not being held by your (and the Russian) side.

Why are you pontificating about what it takes to make a great American with this particular sockpuppet since you're pretending he's Canadian?

Going all the way back to his experience as a pow which I'm sure shaped and molded him understandably McCain's primary objective was to resist any and everyone who offended him in anyway. He's no different than Trump in that regard.

When you look to all of the inconsistent political positions that he staked out each and every time he staked out maverick positions it was because someone in leadership offended him. He actually acted like a republican for a short while after Obama offended him by calling him John rather than Senator as custom dictates.

He was not a great Republican Senator. The left loved him only because he hated Donald Trump and the conservative agenda. When he ran for President the same media loving him now compared him to George Wallace back then. He was a renegade Senator who worked to undermine Republican Presidents. He conspired to undermine this Republican President by advancing the Dossier which we know now all involved knew it to be false and unverified. This is why we saw 7 days of glowing admiration for John McCain. The only reason.

Think about what you just vomited..
So many real patriotic Americans hate 45 so much that they made a hero out of an actual Republican.

Very instructive to see who feels qualified and compelled to comment negatively on the character and accomplishments of a man who was tortured and who died while in service to his country. If you had any sense of shame, you’d be ashamed.

Nothing instructs you more than the sear of a political trigger.:D

To me, it wasn't right. But, it's the way we are now, sadly. No one has class anymore. I didn't know you could unvite someone to your funeral. I could only imagine what a shit show Trump's funeral is going to be. McCain's funeral was too much. As other's said, it was as though a President died. Condolences to his family. His poor mother lives to 106 just so she could bury her son. That sucks. RIP and thank you for your service to our great country.

Like most Yogi-isms that one took me a minute to get, even though I had heard it before.

You can invite all of the uninvited assholes to yours.

One thing is to shit on his death and his heroism and ordeal in Vietnam, you're right.
But I understand that people are now trying to revise History and call him a hero.

From what I read online, these are the countries for which he advocated for military interventionism and bombing:

Bosnia, Kosovo, Georgia, Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Kuwait, Libya, Mali and Nigeria,

Funny how most of those countries deserved a good bombing ain’t it.

So now you are fully onboard as a GWB warhawk fanboy, because Trump? Did you check with the collective?

Doesn't your arm get tired from holding a finger up in the wind like that?
