Ths great coffee debate.

Coffee..

We have a Ninja Coffee maker. I have used it twice. Too much to clean!

My husband get us a cold coffee brewer. It nice but you have to plan ahead.

We also have a French Press. I would be hard pressed to find it. It works fine.

It’s too easy to stop at the gas station 3 minuets from our house. My husband got us mugs that only cost 50 to fill. That coffee is pretty good there.

We used to have a Braun Coffee maker. It was really neat it would grind the beans every morning. It got lost in the move. I am crossing my fingers it’s in storage. Maybe we will be reunited soon..

For me coffee needs to be good by itself. No cream no sugar.

Generally when an auto drip coffee maker is producing bitter or truly awful coffee its because its overdue for a cleaning. I looked inside one such machine once and once I saw the mold and filth was shocked.
The other thing is going cheap on the filters or using overly hard water that's chemical content makes it awful. But people are going to be people and will drink awful coffee if there's nothing else available.

Also..bitter coffee can be from a grind that is too fine...A water temperature too hot and unfiltered water.
Pre soak your coffee in your filter if possible...it makes for a smooth even bodied flavor and your coffee grinds won't explode in your filter and make a mess.

Also if your drip maker let's you steal a cup while it's brewing, make sure you get the pot all the way back in so the valve under the basket opens again... Hot water and grounds all over the counter and burning on the plate under the pot = not enjoying morning coffee.

Alright you non coffee drinkers I know....

Maybe I need patience or a barista in my kitchen.i ain't cleaning that fuckin thing.

I lurve coffee. I am the only one in my house who drinks it, so I just use (Wegmans) ground coffee beans and an automatic drip machine. I used to have a fancy machine that would both grind and brew coffee. It smelled soooo good. But it was a pain to clean, so now I just keep it simple. I have a small keurig in my classroom for emergencies.

I don't clean when I drink coffee.as a rule.

I usually buy my coffee on the way into work:
Iced white chocolate americano with almond milk.
(Iced all year round because I can’t drink when I’m working, so I put it in the fridge and drink it slowly over time. I used to get hot, but heating and reheating over and over was tedious)

After my bought coffee is consumed, I drink the drivel proffered in the lounge which is a drip that is so strong it burns your eyes when you sip it. I add a bit of milk and it’s passable.

At home, I have a French press and use only beans we hand grind (raven’s brew these days).

Okay, so honestly? I’ll drink anything marked “coffee” from anywhere because it is the elixir of life.

Mmmm elixir....
That is the gospel truth.

You can also use MCT oil to make that bullet proof coffee too, or just take a tablespoon full of it before drinking your coffee. The end result is the same energy boost and positive metabolism influence.

Shelf life of 3 days? That's about the same as the coffee at Jiffy Lube.

I actually like Keurig coffee. It's the easiest way to get close to the flavor you're looking for and it comes in cup sizes so you don't have to make a whole pot. Now I can have coffee in the evening. As far as what builds up in the Keurig, we'll just call that "seasoning" like what you do with a cast iron pan. We'll call it Keurig's umami.

Home auto drip just can't replicate what you get when you go to a coffee shop, or at least that's my experience. It's nice, but is anyone really aiming for "nice?"

Peets may as well just serve you a cup of coffee grounds. I'm sure there's stronger coffee out there somewhere but that's by far the strongest I've ever had.
Peet's puts hair on my chest.
Wait

...what?
I use an Aeropress - perfect for a single cup and so quick and easy.
However, there has been nothing to touch my old Senseo machine
Aeropress.
Maybe?
I have an automatic drip coffee maker. I got a coffee grinder a couple of years ago for Christmas so I started grinding my own beans and haven't gone back. Just tastes better to me than already ground coffee.

Grinding. Such a useful term for good things...
Oops, that was outloud.

Let us Southerners teach you how to drink "proper" tea ;)

Sweet and iced :D

Nah, you just need to start buying and keeping a couple of gallons of distilled vinegar around the house. Pour a coffee post full of that into your coffee pot and let it sit for a while before turning hitting the on switch. The run a couple of pots of clean water through it afterwards. With a Bunn that begins its cycle as soon as you've poured in the water you just let it go ahead and run. No scrubbing, its just like making a pot of coffee.

Here's my friendly soap box psa...pods are bad...bad bad bad...for the environment and usually aren't recyclable even if they say they are.
Pour over or Chemex. .or single brewers peeps...one cup..no waste..yum yum.yum...
*climbs off soap box*
Xoxox

Agree! I don't like bitter people and I don't like bitter drinks. The only way you'll get me to drink tea is sweet, iced, and preferably bubbled! The only coffee I like is Coffee Crisp... But that's a Canada thing and a whole other story...

I used to use dark roast beans, but now I tend toward medium to light roasts.
