Agreed, less friendly. Most people accept your friend request then never communicate. There are several crossovers from here, I have several friends there that I fist met here.

Was on it very briefly to see what it was all about but did find it a little confusing and overwhelming to navigate. So never really stuck around long enough to make any connections with people, perhaps I should have stayed on it longer. Would also be interested in other peoples experience on it.

FetLife has long been a site I frequent. It a great place to fine local, like minded people. Though one quickly finds that while many are open to posting their exploits, they are not as open to meeting new playmates.

All your comments are good... I was a bit over-whelmed at first, but after spending some time on FetLife I found it easy to navigate with most members telling a lot more about themselves than they do on other sites. I did make a connection, met a lady in person, haven't bedded her yet, she is pretty active... so I don't know that I want to, but... I'll keep ya posted, LOL!

I've been on FetLife almost as long as I've been on Literotica. It's changed over the years, as its population has mushroomed. Many of the changes have not been for the better, IMHO, but it's still worth being there.

The thing about 'friendly' or 'not friendly' lies in the groups you join. Groups are the heart of FL, the thing that makes it tick. Some groups are unbelievably snarky, and/or poorly moderated, or in the worst cases, the moderators are the snarkiest of the bunch. Other groups are positively wonderful. It's just a matter of seeking them out. There are so many of them (thousands), and some of them are very narrowly focused on one interest or another.

My advice, if you stumble into a group that's snarky or poorly moderated: give it a few days; stay quiet and observe it; if your first impression is correct, just leave. Above all, if a troll attacks you, don't respond. It never makes anything better, and it wastes your time and energy.

OTOH, when you find groups that are worth your while, take the time and make the effort to get to know people in the group. Read their profiles. Friend the ones that seem most in tune with you. (if they have 1000 friends or more, chances are they're just 'friend collectors,' and to them you're nothing but a notch on their numbers list. Better off to just 'follow' these if they interest you.) Once friended (or followed), they will show up in your activity feed. Check out the groups they have joined. Find more groups that interest you, and that way, more people. And so on.

Pretty soon, what seems like a sprawling and confusing site will make sense and also seem smaller and more personal.

My husband and I are on Fet and I agree with what everyone else has said. It's a bit bigger and less focused than Lit unless you seek out groups. I've made some great friends there, and it's ideal for meeting people locally (which we enjoy but do rarely and very carefully), but I like Lit better.

Nice to read everyone's comments... I have been spending a lot of time on FetLife, making some friends, all local to me. I really am liking the site. My kinks are pretty low-key compared to many others but it is interesting to learn what many people are doing. There are many local activities that are listed as well if you're so inclined.

It does take some maneuvering around to get a feel for the site and how it works... one very interesting feature (at least for me) is that whenever you click on someone's name it takes you right to their homepage. Return arrow takes you back... very quick and informative...

It's all in the groups. Each group has its own character, and that character attracts more people of a similar attitude. When you stumble into a group that's negative, intolerant, or whatever, just stumble on out. Don't bother arguing with people in a group like that. When you find a group that's more in tune with your own attitudes and interests, stay. That is where you will also find individuals you want to be around.
