I'm convinced that the stethoscope is just the doctor's engaging applied charisma. They're just doing kino escalation. It gives them an excuse to put their hands on you which, psychologically speaking, is a way of building trust and connection with another human being.

Work had an upset yesterday that is throwing everything off for a while. Thankfully nothing that will be devastating but a good friend and employer ended up in the hospital. She's a type A and does it all. I've envied her abilities for a long time because I could never be as productive but now I see it comes at a price just like everything else.
