In just over one year, special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of the Trump campaign and Russia has generated five guilty pleas, 20 indictments, and more than 100 charges. None of these have anything to do with Mueller’s chief focus: the Russian government’s alleged meddling in the 2016 election and the Trump campaign’s suspected involvement. While it’s certainly possible that Mueller will make new indictments that go to the core of his case, what’s been revealed so far does not make a compelling brief for collusion.

Look, if talking to the Russians was a crime the majority of members of both houses of the Congress and half the international business community would all be looking at grand juries. It isn't against the law to talk to the Russians. It is against the law to conspire with a foreign government to violate the laws of the United States, however.

Hillary's email debacle may comprise sufficient illegal acts to constituted a crime under several Federal Statutes. The IG's report is due out today so we'll find out what really happened without partisan opinions leading the results.

This is a coup d’etat in slow ‘OJ Simpson style slow speed chase, and as in that instance, there’s no conviction of the real criminals, Hillary and Obama. Best thing for the country would be for Trump to do what Gerald Ford did with Nixon, and pardon both Hillary and Obama for obstruction of justice and treason. It’s not possible to appeal a pardon, therefore as close to the deserved convictions as we’ll ever get. Mueller can go fuck himself.
