yup. There's two things to realize about autoerotic asphyxiation.
a) like anything else, you are going to get used to the limits you set (become jaded), and seek to push the envelope; to go further closer to the edge, which, if you go it alone, is how fatalities happen.
b) If you do it with someone else, and you trust them that much, then trust them when they say "that's enough."
edit: okay, I screwed up that list. I was going to say something else; there were originally 2 things with a straggler concept, then I considered not mentioning "the second thing to realize". Technically, AUTOerotic asphyxiation isnt where you do it with someone else, that's just erotic asphyxiation.
However, I'll add that there is a subset of autoerotic asphyxia which is "huffing." An extremely dangerous concept out of the gate, while autoerotic asphyxia doesnt have to be. Tying something around your neck and using your weight to restrict oxygen and blood-flow is a recipe for disaster, same as huffing.
Holding your breath and timing it to your orgasm, is a safer form. Your autonomic system will kick in even if you pass out and you'll wake up a moment later. No harm. Keep the pressure below your neck. If you feel pressure around your ears, you're doing it wrong!
