I had a great boss, he treated us well, brought in incentive programs to encourage us to get further training, and once a year would call us to his office for a cup of coffee or other just to talk and find out about our families, things on the floor, and ideas we had to make the company better. We were less than 200 people and he made each of us feel like his favourite. It was the only place I ever worked that always had enough volunteers for overtime and workers ideas were implemented. He passed from leukaemia a few years ago, but he taught me how a little personalization can make a big difference.

I think that's one of the things I like about this job. The VP came out and made it a point to hunt me down and see how I was doing. And I wasn't doing all that well.

And then he told me to move up the surgery, so I did what he said.

He was right, as it turned out. There wasn't going to be much more of toughing that one out.

Allah needs to leave more of the good ones and take away to send straight to Hell more of the bad ones.

Confucius say, "Man who have sex with woman wearing panty hose strain himself."

Teach the damned kids to walk to practice, like we did back in July. In the deep snow. Uphill. Both ways . . . .

I got the truck sorted out today. The tool bought to extract the rounded-off drain plug nut worked like a charm. In fact, it worked so well that it bit into what was left of the nut and required a hammer to get the drain plug off the socket. Good for it, impressively so.

So now the oil is changed. The new drain plug was the correct one for the application. It got sealed like the old one so it won't leak.

There was a lot of walking, so there won't be much else getting done today.

An antique post from Hell:

My brother told me that he was in his car, sitting at a traffic signal in Jacksonville NC. That is near Camp LeJeune. Every block in town features a strip bar and a barber shop. It's a way happening place.

A guy was sitting a couple of places up from him at the light. He was on his Harley. His leg prosthesis fell off.

He is at the light, on his bike, engine running, looking like he can do something to drive off, but it seems that his leg has fallen into the street. He was stuck - totally. He can't reach the thing, and he can't balance the bike and operate the stand at the same time. He started to wave to the cars for help.

The guy in front of my brother saw it first and went to help the guy, handing him his leg back. All was well.

That must have been a hoot to see.

I had forgotten this one totally. I've had the feeling since all that's happened.

I still feel like I need a nap. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot???

Pleasant night. Decent outing.

I was talking to this guy I met last week. He seemed reasonably bright last week, and tonight he seems more like he's wicked-smart. I almost felt sorry for him because he thinks too much about shit he can't control.

Which reminds me that the stoic said we can achieve happiness and contentment in this life when we can realize (make real in our heads) what we can control and what we cannot.

And there's an Allah-damn shitload of the latter, so . . . .

Morning.

After a few hiccoughs the air is up and running properly. Got some shopping to do early this AM and then a rather lazy day is in store.

I need to repair lawnmowers and get a leaf-blower running.
I need to. I just wonder if I will.

Sorta the same here now that the trees have finished dropping their seed pods. Won't tackle that chore until this weekend though.
