Okay...I'm dead tired of being poor. Help!

Ideas...prostitution out...I'm okay, but too old to be a male prostitute, stripper or porn star.

Network marketing out.

selling blood/plasma. Intersting concept. Might take too long.

Crime...I'm okay with it.

I'm not tech savvy enough to do online support or create websites or learn to code.

I don't mind working hard.

Looking into becoming a contractor in the middle east. Don't think I have the skills but sounds okay. Mining in a remote Australian location. I'm in. How do I get teh job though. Robbing churches? I'm in.

Help!

Try televangelism if you lack morals.

Or start your own cult. Honestly, if you do it right, and it sounds as if you've the personality for it, you could make a fortune.

You're already a writer - write some nonsense as your 'bible' - doesn't need to be compelling, as long as you understand how to market your idea - and get yourself set up.

Netflix has a brilliant series called Wild Wild Country which might give you some useful ideas.

Yes, religion. Start a church. I suggest one based in Malibu, or maybe that’s my own dream. Anyway, you can make it happen.

I thought about male escort and stripper for a while. Getting offers for a long time is what made me think on it. I finally went to a male strip club to "apply" and the mgr was like,"Aren't you a little old for this?"

I wouldn't contract in the mid-east. I've heard horror stories. Do some research. There's lots of money there, but people get killed. Especially Americans.

There will be no church robbing.

Nothing as long as you don't want for material things.

Money is not the root of all evil. Material things are.

I think the old saying is "The Love of Money is the root of all evil." Not that it matters.

The key to handling money is to make sure you don't waste it. Maybe the thread-bearer should consider whether or not their written work is worth much on the open market?

Nothing as long as you don't want for material things.

Like food. Shelter. Heat. Electricity. Water. Internet, if you're posh. Petrol. A car that doesn't break down. A phone, if you want to communicate with the rest of the world.

The fact is, a certain amount of money's required to make you comfortable, so you can live above the survival threshold. There's poor: 'I can't afford to go to Boca Raton this year', and there's 'Now, James, don't put the heater on, there's newspaper we can wrap ourselves in'.

I have a sibling who works in the Middle East and makes pots of money. I've known those who've worked there and loved it, and those who've noped out of there within weeks/when trouble brewed. Based on what others have told me, I wouldn't suggest swearing at Emiratis or trying to hold down a same sex relationship in KSA. I've heard it also helps if you take a lax view to morals and ethics, and blatant racism doesn't ruffle your feathers. But, the money! It's still good.

I'm not sure there's money in FIFO for newcomers these days. Most of the boom is over and those who are there earning big $ are both skilled and bloody good workers. But if you go this route, don't buy property in the local area.

If I was to pick a new career and I was young, male and fit, I'd look at being an arborist/tree climber. Sure there's the risk of death, and you need to be fit, but the money's good, the work would be interesting and you can take your role literally anywhere in the world.

Well you seem funny and interesting to read, write a novel.

I can remember my Dad suggesting that I find a rich widow and marry her.

He thought Church was a good place to meet girls and/or a rich widow.

Don't know why he didn't suggest a rich divorcee.

Two different kinds of money in this world...

Dumb money, and even dumber money.

MANY different kinds of people. Most of them I don't particularly like.

From first glance over your post, OP, you're talking about 'working for somebody who is going to pay you because they're in a position to do it.'

And you'll never make money that way because that's what the other fella has and he ain't handing it away to you, me, or anyone - if he can avoid it.

Authentic knowledge about making money, on the other hand, is relatively available, and often is shared between people of equitable character. 'Authentic' knowledge, though, IS nonetheless, incredibly rare.

...I made my first entirely self-made million dollars at 27. I still know how; I don't have anywhere near the sense of urgency I had back then, but, it's also a lot easier for me to do now and I'm pretty lazy as well.

Money is never where you see it; it is constantly moving and morphing too - and it will turn up AHEAD of where you are looking AT IT. You need to place your 'bucket' there in that place, and today, your bucket needs to be a digital wallet (which is free to come by, more or less; assuming the technical infrastructure).
