Has anyone read it? I want to.

I just listened to a recorded interview with Juanita Broaddrick, the author.

The interview was about the book and what led her to write it. "You'd Better Put Some Ice On That" wasn't intended to focus on the Clintons. It's her life story.

According to the interview I listened to, the book is about her life experiences that also includes Arkansas politics and gov't, the Clintons, and rape. She also discusses her anger with the Democrat party and Time Magazine. According to her, she was part of the "metoo" movement before it actually started, but wasn't invited to become part of it as it has come to light through liberal guidance

In 1997, she initially signed an affidavit w/Paula Jones stating that unfounded rumors and and stories circulating about Bill Clinton were untrue. In 1999, she alleged Bill Clinton raped her in April, 1978 when he was Arkansa Attorney General.

This thread is about a book and it's author. Why would someone have it moved to the Politics Forum?

Because it is a political book.

In the Authors' Hangout we discuss fiction.

Of course it could be argued that the book you mention IS fiction.

I get that. I understand the eyeroll.:D

Never judge a book by its cover.

Have you read it? It's an autobiography about a woman's and politics happens to be in it as does many books.

I'm new here and tend to put books with books and politics with politics. In an odd way, books and politics do mingle once the book becomes public. Whatever intentions the books have, those intentions get lost in the mix regardless of the content therein.

What if it's a book of fiction about sports, transportation, or something other than politics?

The Authors' Hangout is supposed to be about writing. If a book is an example of good or bad writing then why not?

But general comments on books that don't have interest for a WRITER? This is Literotica, not a book club discussion forum.

The synopsis of the book you have given above shows that discussion of it should be here in the Politics Board.

It is specific to US politics. Many of us are not US citizens or US resident so that book would be of very minor interest.

Edited for PS. A book about the sexual misconduct of Lloyd George might be relevant. Apart from being the UK's Prime Minister he was a randy Welshman...

I see now. I haven't read it myself. I listened to an interview w/the author this morning. The DJ/Journalist doing the interview pushed on the political hot points. The author tried to deflect from the topic, saying that was a part of the book and not the whole. The author also answered honestly because she believes she was coerced into signing documents in favor of Bill Clinton (Arkansas Attorney General at that time.), against her will.

Should I have reworded it to reflect whatever should be in the AH?

No, because the AH is not the forum for political discussions. We chat on the craft of writing, play dumb games, exchange recipes and weather reports, swap jokes, confess to media and intoxicants we've swallowed.

But we don't do politics there.

Rewording a political piece doesn't make it non-political. If you're written or are writing political erotica (or non-erotica), and you want to discuss fitting political elements into your story, or how others have done so, fine. If you want reactions to a piece you've written and published on LIT, there's a forum for that. But authors on AH aren't big on discussing someone else's politics there. Take it to PB here, or GB. Or the mod will do it for you.

To reiterate what the OP was trying to say:

The book in question is about real life events from the author's past. POLITICS became the focus of everyone who HAS NOT read the book in it's entirety.

However, those opposing the OP have very clearly made up their minds on this topic.

I highly recommend you go back to the AH and reiterate that. It's very clear to all this decision is based upon the OP's political choices and NOT his insight to ONE singular book.

Don't bother responding to me on this. Thanks.:)
