Hello,

Is there a sudden glut of stories to review? I've had one "pending" for a week now, which has never happened before. (And no, it hasn't been sent back!)

Hello,

Maybe so. I’ve been waiting on publication for seven days. I have never had one take more than five before.

My last one took 8 days to post. I pm'd on day 7 checking to see if there was a problem with it. I didn't hear back but the story showed up next day. Maybe it had something to do with it, may be not.

My latest 2 posted in 3 days. But then again, I've been around forever.

There were 112 new stories up this morning, which doesn't mean there isn't a glut. Maybe Laurel's clearing a backlog. It happens.

There was a delay finishing off the April Fools Day contest, and some of us apparently still have problems with pages not loading. I wonder if on-and-off technical issues might be delaying publication.

An odd thing happened to two of my submissions (well, edits) last week: Both showed as "pending" for something like 14 days.

Normally I stay logged in, sometimes for a week or more, just refreshing pages to check for updates. After 14 days of the edits saying "pending" I PM'd Laurel and they were posted a day later, but subsequent refreshes of the "works" tab again showed 2 works pending. Attempts to edit them failed with an error. When I logged out then back in, the pendings were gone.

It never occurred to me to check the actual text of each story. I suspect, but can't prove, that they were actually posted and it was an error in the new web interface that kept showing them as pending.

Edits take way longer than regular stories. Upwards of a week for an established author, longer for an author who recently joined. But 14 Days does sound like a long time, but there was also a contest going on. Hopefully Laurel will be able to clear some of the edits and stuff out.

If it's still pending on Monday, PM her and politely ask when it will posted.

How come? Does Laurel put extra effort to make sure that the edits conform to site standards, or is it because of the technical aspect of modifying a posted story?

They just aren't as high a priority as new stories.
