I am an uncircumcised male and I am wondering if there are American women who actually like that. Where I grew up in Europe, it is pretty normal, but people here seem to be very against it.

I added a photo above. If you click on it you can see one. lol

I have also never seen an uncircumcised penis in person but I don’t think I would be bothered by it. Am I wrong in thinking when erect you can not tell?

Just saw the photo. I don't see anything wrong with it. I wouldn't have a problem with it at all.

Here is one erect. It is still covered so I guess it is a little different.

Thanks.

Why do so many people here (in USA) want their kids to be circumcised?

I think it’s just because it the status quo. And they force it into your brain that cleanliness will be an issue....

Thanks. :)

I am almost embarrassed sometimes because people here (in California) talk about uncircumcised like some sort of walking dead!

I didn't look at the pic because I've seen pics before and I'm not into dick pics in general. I have never seen one in person though. Not sure I would quite know what to do with it but I doubt that it would bother me.

I find the concept of circumcision odd... here in the U.K., the figure is less than 4% and most of them are for religious reasons... there is currently talk of a ban on circumcising children here, even for religious reasons - after all we don’t allow female genital mutilation, why is mutilating baby boys any different? All eyes are on Iceland which is currently trying to push through a ban, we might be next and the evidence suggests the majority of Brits would support a ban...

Anywhos, your dick looks fine, x

Another Brit here who is also puzzled why so many Americans like to chop a bit off their baby boy.
None of the explanations given here or on previous threads make much sense.

Thanks girls. Nice to know nothing has changed at home. I find the whole concept odd too. Chopping a bit off of your child seems odd to me. Cleanliness is a personal thing, and I just don't see it being down to circumcision!

It’s odd to you, as brits, because you don’t realky have a lot of Jews. I live in the northeast and I never have been with an uncut male in the US. But culture here - food, language, days off from school, and the issue of circumcision, are influenced by that. Less in other parts of the US.

So you may think it’s odd but to many of us, it’s not.

And comparing a bris to FGM is ignorant. Banning it in Europe didn’t really become a thing to talk about until your Muslim populations started to grow. It’s a way to alienate religious minorities. Something Europe excels at. FGM is about subjugating women.

I personally don’t care whether a dick is it isn’t. We had a Bris for my son. It wasn’t odd. The boy he was cared for with by the nanny wasn’t. No one cares outside of religious obligation. And as a Jew, I do not care what others do. It’s not an evangelical belief. Thankfully.

Avery, you are correct. It seems odd to me personally, but only from the point of hurting a baby. I am a softie when it comes to that. I don't judge however, so I didn't mean any harm. I do get judged though. People telling me I am not clean is a little much. I have no problem with it other than the pain for the child, but I don't think it is right to teach people it is necessary for cleanliness. Also, could have done without the anti-European sentiment.

You use anesthesia. And because there are fewer nerve endings at that age, you do it then vs when you’re 18. Like my spouse did. Which he said was a nightmare because boners and stitches don’t mesh well. Infants don’t need actual surgery. Baby cried at being held still and that was it. He has no idea and once he was allowed to go back to wiggling around, he was fine. I don’t appreciate the insinuation that as a mother I would sit idly by while my child was harmed.

I’m not anti-European. But if you know anything, you’ll know that a lot of the anti-circumcision and anti-head covering proposals disproportionately hurt Jews and Muslims. Even if they’re only trying to make it less hospitable to Muslims, Jews are impacted too. I’m heading to Europe for work in a few weeks. And lived there. And have been many, many times. I know the track record with religious minorities isn’t that great.
