I mainly paint fun tropical things. Palm pods and pieces, repurposed items like bamboo trays, cigar boxes. Nothing high end but the people who live here buy that kind of thing and so do the tourists. Mermaids, sea turtles, parrots, signs with hibiscus flowers... I sell most things thru Facebook or Etsy. Right now I've only got less then 10 pieces finished here ready to find a home.

Once I get the laptop set up I can pm you a couple of links so you can look & enjoy seeing what I've done. Due to my shoulders and having good days and bad days I never charge custom fees. Plus nothing I do is expensive. You have time to think and plan what you'd like.

That's the hardest part at a time like this. I feel pretty normal some days then try to do normal things and get in trouble. My current medical team are mainly military and the PT has me on a tight line of what I can & can't do especially with the hurricane clean up with the tree debris. No riding on the mower due to the no power steering & the hard shaking with the mower running. So that's banned like they banned me on boats. The 4 hours of constant motion on the boat with my Honor Flight veterans a year ago is what cause the major tearing on the new left shoulder. No heavy waves & I was in the intercoastal in a boat parade on a dolphin cruiser boat.

I'm trying to paint now too on top of them starting my neck PT so all those new muscles hate me right now as well. I just can't win some days.

well the good news is that my PT says I am right and it is a torn muscle in my calf.

So if your new ortho called you a heroin addict 3 times on your first visit and is saying there's nothing wrong with your knee but arthritis and "deal with it" at the same time your trusted PT Doc is asking for an MRI.... How hard do you kick the asshat's butt??

Believe me I can definitely relate I go to the VA for PT and as far as I can see one Doctor doesn't know what the other is doing, no communication.

I called Humana and reported him for calling me a heroin addict 3 times and also implying I was doctor shopping for meds. The nice Humana rep who wrote up the complaint said it made him wonder Der who else this doctor was messing with.

Long UPDATE

Dr Nasty apparently not only lost his job here (Thanks to my shoulder guy turning him in to the teaching Institute they work at on top of me turning him into Humana) BUT he's also gone to Texas & not coming back. So I apologize to Texas & their veterans. I am pretty sure he ended up working at a VA since Humana black listed him from civilian work.

My knee is now taped & the way it dropped the pain has been amazing. The new knee guy had been surprised & was telling my PT doc maybe exploratory surgery. UMMMMM.... OH HELL NO. So I am taped with KT Tape & I can live years in that tape if need be. I'm still Lime & Aqua but it's beachy so I blend. It's the MCL area for those of you med tech enough to be in the know.

And for the most amazing thing Spirit dropped on me. Not quite 2 weeks ago I answered a message from Boca on my phone asking about a custom order painted on a palm pod. I said yes and OMG it's turned into a bucket list thing. I'm not allowed to show any photos on line but the Broadway play opens tomorrow & If I say "Fins up" some of you will know what I can't say in public. I was way happy with the piece & so were the Boca people. I haven't heard about the team reaction in NYC yet. I had over 50 hours into that piece and worked a fast hard week to make sure it made it to opening night. I am just so honored they called me! Spirit is good!!!

The shoulder guy is almost family at this point & he's been acting as my ortho team doctor. I make all my medical people work with me as a team. His new PA is Irish & the UK is the only place that has any specialists on my soft tissue disease. So that is awesome news for me PLUS the new guy is nice & personable. I see them in 2 months & we are doing more physical therapy as a maintenance thing. I'll probably never get out of PT due to everything.

Soft tissue injuries and chronic pain are far worse than actually breaking something, they tend to linger and come back to haunt you years later.

Spent the day working the Easter egg event for the village.
We had tons of kids who got to meet a huge amount of First Responders from all kinds of departments with vehicles.
2 different police departments, our Fire Department & CERT teams, a SWAT vehicle, state wild life ranger, water patrol, Public Works trucks, an ambulance team, BayFlight (trauma helicopter). Then add in the Easter Bunny, fun games and crafts for the kids, a DJ playing a great play list that kept us dancing, even a rock climbing wall.

I'm actually resting & watching TV. Not something I do often.

The SWAT team guy was a hunk and looked like he should be on the new SWAT TV show. It was fun sending kids over one way to meet my SWAT friend and my EMS friends the other direction. It was great crazy fun.

What did you get to do?? Last week wasn't nearly as much fun at the event I worked.

Awesome news to turn around a bad week....

Humana just called and apologized for the hard time they gave me over trying new meds. I'm pretty sure they didn't like the words FORCED or LAB RAT....and approved both my generic meds they refused to cover before. PLUS the 3rd they won't cover the generic but will cover the brand name.

Then a request came in for someone to take the CERT truck to another local Touch a Truck event.
So I said find me a truck driver & table slinger and I will work it again.
