*facepalm*

Wake up, email bipping at me. Anonymous review. Someone scolding me about not publishing a follow-up chapter at New Year's as promised, and it's nearly Easter, and I'm lazy and a bad person.

Problem is, I've published three chapters as follow-ups to the chapter he is wonking about, just under a different story name.

It never occurred to me that I would need to explain that he might have to look up a clearly-related story that was under a different name. If I have readers, I guess I have the expectation that they'll check my works and figure it out. It even says in the description that it's a sequel.

Am I being a hard-ass and expecting too much, or are anonymous reviewers just generally synaptically impeded?

I feel your pain.

I assume a certain intelligence from my readers, and on the whole, they don't let me down. Occasionally, one needs short words and crayons. Use bright colours.

Disclaimer: following advice is is meant with good intentions, but will be delivered in my typical blunt fashion

Stop giving a fuck what these anon vultures sucking up free material all day think about anything you write or don't write.

Write for you, give a fuck about you, and fuck them.

Your pockets will be the same at the end of the day.

Probably apropos of not a damn thing, but have you ever noticed the warning they put on hair dryers, that you shouldn't take them in the shower?

Have you ever stopped and really thought about just why they started putting that on there?

Never underestimate the ability of even a relatively intelligent person to overlook something simple. Just sayin'.

'tis true, I somehow doubt it's the anons who contribute to my Patreon account...

I just get flabbergasted by how... dumb... they get on occasion. Registered readers are not this addled.

Waking up to it made me despair.

Although the majority of anon seem to be positive and stay anon for their own reasons, the true trolls and dimwits are using it to hide behind and take full advantage of the fact this site will never do the right thing for their authors and ditch anon to get rid of stupidity and personal attacks on stories.

If you're getting this upset about it, you're taking it way too seriously and giving them exactly what they want which in their eyes is relevance.

I think the anon in question was not a troll, because they were demanding further chapters of my story. I'm just discouraged with my species because the further chapters were RIGHT THERE.

Why must lunkheads read erotica/smut/porn?

Don't mind me, it's just a wonk thread. They're cathartic.

Maybe that extra click to get to them was too much...must have been a millennial.

As for wanting more you can write a 100 chapter story and they want more. These are the people that would eat PB&J every day for a year and if someone gave them a better sandwich they'd be upset.

You'll have to excuse me, there's reasons I haven't posted a story here since about this time last year. Got tired of all of it. I just post here for shits and giggles, but have stopped caring about what people think of my writing and that includes the positive as well.

My first book sale for $2.99 in 2011 paid me more than all my stories here ever have except for a few contest winners before they became a huge joke.

I hear a lot of people are doing patreon here, but my personal opinion is its making money off of another person's platform and I don't feel that's fair, so I just stopped posting here and sell all my new smut.

Why don't you come out and just say what you think? Seriously, don't choke up 'cause it'll fester inside.

I generally check the works of an author I like, but I can imagine not everyone does so. Or does not realize the link to your works is just behind the name of the author.

Could it be it is in a different category perhaps, making him unable to recognize them as such? Not that it justifies the rant - he could've just asked you - but still.

Not to sound cynical...

But I'm just inclined to blame a general synaptic dissonance in the Anons. Then again, you're talking to a man who looks both ways when crossing a one-way street, because of how little faith he has in humans he doesn't know... :/

That quote might just find itself back into one of my stories :D
I'll make sure I try to credit you for that.
