So when you say that Adam was perfect, do you just mean he was a man of integrity?

No, Adam really was perfect until he sinned. Do you understand the difference between a translation and an original language? Sometimes it's impossible to perfectly translate a word.

No, Adam really was perfect until he sinned.

Perfect!

I mean, I tried calling God for heavenly reservations after he told me there was only one Adam. Then God said,"Captain, forget about those damned apples!"

Well, that didn't set right w/me. So, I called again and got this weird answering machine that said,"This # is disconnected. If you'd like to make a call........"

It's almost like God was saying,"Damn! It's him again." Wtf was I thinking when I created that child?"

Anonymous angel: "My Lord! Perhaps the Devil is in the details?"

God to Angel: "Good point! Someone needs to look after him! Want the job?"

Angel comes forth and kneels before God: "It would be my honor dear Father! To be tasked w/such a formidable endeavor could prove my worthiness to you!"

God to Angel:"So be it! The task is yours! Something tells me I'll regret this. And take the armor! You're gonna need it. Godspeed!"

Angel rushes off to find Captain Numnuts.

Which verse says Adam was perfect?

Here you go:

Ro 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned--
13 (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.

How about now? Is Adam in Heaven, and is he perfect up there?

Yes Adam is now perfect up there because he has been regenerated spiritually, just as Christians are regenerated spiritually. The Christian lives in a flesh that is sinful, but has a spirit that is not sinful, therefore, they war against each other and conflict in this life. When that person dies, the sinful flesh is gone and they are no longer sinful. A non born again person is still dead spiritually, therefore the sinful flesh reigns and there is no struggle within them. When they die, their soul does not go to heaven and continues to be sinful.

And you know all of this ... how?

Adam’s ingredients are listed in the Bible. He was composed entirely of dust, and animated by a whiff of God’s mighty breath. I have no idea where they came up with this “spirit” business.

Ahhhh, at last .....

This is one I have been tempting. Leading this one to the false impression they have a chacne of arrival.

When shall I tell them they do not?

From the Bible.

Ec 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

1Co 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

James 2:26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

"Ruwach" means "breath".

"Pneuma" means "breath".
James 2:26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.
Ditto.

:D

You're flat-out lying again, wannabe: the Bible does not say "Adam is now perfect up there because he has been regenerated spiritually, just as Christians are regenerated spiritually."

What it does state about those who have died who are saved:

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

1 Thessalonians 4:14 (KJV)

Those saved DO NOT go to heaven when they die, they "sleep in Jesus", until...

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV)

Have you ever even read the Bible, JoelJr?

God suggested to ADAM that he would die if he ate the fruit. He did not.

The serpent suggested that Adam would gain great knowledge. He did.

So who was telling the truth?

Adam did die. Not the second he ate, but he did die. He would not have without that dang apple.

You are right he did gain great knowledge, but is the knowledge of evil all it is cracked up to be? My opinion is NOT!

According to the Bible, Adam lived for 930 years. If he hadn't eaten the apple, he might have lived to be fifty. Life expectancy at the time was about 33 years.

33 years may be the life expectancy after the fall. If they had not disobeyed God they could have lived in peace in the garden forever. 930 years is great, but when you put it against forever.......not so fantastic.
