I don't know, but if you are going to do a lesbian story involving the women around Jesus, it seemed an obvious idea. They are the most famous two.

If you really want to condemn yourself to lowest levels of purgatory, imagine how all the women feel when they start becoming followers of Jesus, devoted to him, wandering in the desert here and there and neglecting their wives...

Or, as the men go about seeking converts, the early women followers commenced having their own study sessions, that increasingly become hands-on - as no doubt the male disciples are also doing with one another...

Oh, the possibilities...
