Trump takes executive action to ban bump stocks that turn rifles into automatic weapo

Which is the right thing to do.

But he will get no credit for it and the liberals will still scream bloody murder about him.

The issue here is libs want no guns whatsoever which is a very different thing than the banning of automatic rifles. End of the day they've expressed fears about Trump wanting to change the constitution, but they're more than willing to when its something they want.

Personalty I don't think it will change a damned thing.

What's an "automatic weapo?"
Weapos are all around us, both auto and manual, and some with erotic decorations. I hear them weaping automagically, right now. [/me strains ear] Yeah, right over there. ===>

I own guns and from a gun owners Point of view I don't understand the obsession with owning automatic rifles. For what? All kidding aside are you expecting to be under siege?

Hard "Personalty" to change an obvious dumbass that posts "bump stocks...turn rifles into automatic weapo"[ns].

BTW: NO PART of the Executive branch is empowered by the Constitution to create/pass law: the President is ONLY empowered to enact or not enact law sent to him by Congress, and the Department of Justice's ONLY legal concern in that regard is to enforce laws constitutionally passed by Congress and either enacted by the President or enacted by Congress if the President refuses to.

Only Congress can constitutionally pass law, meaning if Trump and his DOJ create any regulation/rule/whatever against bump stocks (or whatever else) and then FORCEFULLY apply that regulation/rule/whatever in any way whatsoever upon the American public...

The House should immediately impeach the President and his Attorney General for their blatantly deliberate unconstitutional acts.

How fast can one's finger twitch? The M16A2's I fired (back in the day) had pretty easy trigger pull. Set to single-shot, emptying a 20-round clip took about 2.8 seconds longer than selecting full auto. Swapping clips took longer.

Bump stock is cute but irrelevant. Tromp honors an inverted Hippocratic oath: "First, do no good." The Vegas shooter would have killed just as many whilst firing single shots rapidly. But only because he was allowed to do so.

I give credit to President Trump for taking this baby step. He'll be toddling any day now.

Could have happened after Vegas. But had to let all the right wing crackpots one last chance to buy them.

Well it isn't mandating triggers be removed, but it's a start, amirite?

You would be frothing at the mouth if he refused to ban them about how critical it is to get "automatic" weapons off the streets. Since he did it, it's "meh."

He could whip legislation through that reinstated every word of the Clinton black scary gun ban and then some and you would also say that it was meaningless. But only if he does it. If it comes to his desk and he vetoes it...it'll be the end of the world.

Anything he does will be too little, too late.

Remind me, what gun legislation did Obama/Reid/Pelosi pass?

Remind me...how many times did they try? But see...you need 60 votes to move legislation forward. 60. Now...how many Senate seats did the Democrats have? That's right...54. And who filibustered it? That's right...the Republicans. So instead of just repeating what morons are saying...why not get some facts?

.

Exactly right. Got to start somewhere. This is a no brainer.

Maybe, if some common sense was tried after Newtown...we wouldn't be here today. You never know unless you try something...

I didn't see you making that argument during the Schumer Shutdown.

They didn't have even 50 Democrats on board for gun control.

Just like you had no problem getting Republicans to vote to repeal Obamacare when they knew it wouldn't pass, right now you could get every single Democrat on board. If you could actually peel away 12 Republicans to agree to vote for whatever stupidity you want to pass I guaran-damn-tee you that you won't get the Democrats on board, either.

If you want to infringe on the right to bear arms, amend the constitution, or STFU.

Better yet, quit incorporating Federal law and leave it to the States where it belongs. All of it. Gun Control, Abortion, Gay Marriage, Cannabis, Heroin, Gambling, Alchohol, Retirement, Education, Social Programs, Taxation, Prostitution. Everything.

Do whatever you like and quit telling other states how they should live.

Heller is wrong, but I love it. Liberals entirely own the misconstruction of the incorporation doctrine.

That wasn't the case last time they held all the power.

They were able to shove Romneycare down everyone's throats, with 100% of Republicans kicking and screaming the whole way.

Much to the joy of progressive democrats it was arguably the single greatest fucking of the working/middle class the USA has ever seen.

They could have passed gun control too.

It seems to be under the impression that there is some kind of "writing on the wall" that has something to do with gun control.

LOL

That is too USA for most lefties......the very notion of not micromanaging every waking moment and even the very thoughts and emotions of others via the great God State Government in the most totalitarian fashion possible blows their fucking minds.

Canadians and Europeans some of the worst. Absolutely impossible for them to shut the fuck up and mind their own god damn problems.

When Putin or the Haji's go to fucking that place up I hope to god we let them.

Small wonder your son disowned you.

I trust that by now you've learned just how much of an empty gesture this was on the President's part.

Dude's a showman, never forget that.
