Yeah, it's raining off and on here. Or on and off. I have a busy day planned, but then plans sometimes are also on and off. We'll see. At least we are headed into another warming trend, even though it is below freezing, which reminds me, I need to check for ice, that could put an end to my plans all by itself.

It looks like RenardRuse (Bobalooski) has turned into LT/Carrie Nation overnight posting multiple threads about alcohol. Some people...

Happy Sunday!!!

Looks like a warming trend here and in the jobsite city, both comparable. Had you asked me last fall, I'd have told you it would be lots colder and snowier there than here. And I would have been wrong.

Ah yes, good old beverage ethanol. I've never seen guys smoke dope and start bar fights, but I've also never been to a dope bar either. A fern bar or two, yes, but just to see what the fuss was all about. Have one drink, look around, and leave. So, I'll have to go to have a look. Maybe.

I think the bike may get another go before blowing town this morning.

I woke up to unexpected snow. It's going to be warm enough that it will melt today and turn everything into a mushy mess so I took the pups for their walk, let them run in the dog pen and then came back and put a pork loin on to cook. My tush is not leaving the house today but I won't lose weight since we are fully stocked.

I went riding into some unexpected fogginess. It wasn't bad, but it fogged up my goggles a bit. At least I didn't get any of it in my eyes.

There were some practicing Xians out going to church this morning (to worship their three-in-one polytheistic gods, I presume, but that's quite enough of that), and I observed that several of them are prone to follow motorcycles a bit too closely. Seriously, part of your golden rule is not to follow bikes too closely. We have enough to think about without having to account for your probable texting while driving when we get to the next intersection and your shoving us out into oncoming traffic.

The cat is prepped for the week, physically and nutritionally if not emotionally. Poor kitteh - he'll be okay. Maybe he'll get more housecallers this week. As long as he doesn't let in any Jehovah's Witnesses.

The Amish are likely the safest Tr00 Believers to ride bikes around.

I'm addicted to chile, especially good (Hatch) green chile. It's the closest thing to heroin that you can buy over the counter without showing ID. Just before the new crop comes in and I'm down to my last 3 lbs I start getting nervous. Pre-withdrawal anxiety sets in. I experiment with it on all sorts of foods and I hadn't found anything it doesn't go with.............until this morning. Pancakes with green chile just isn't a winning combination.

My tush is going for more coffee.

Then it'll get dressed, go out and clean off that filthy throw-back designed machine, and then go out and get it dirty again.

Looks like it'll be warmer the next couple of weeks, like maybe the groundhog missed the call entirely.

A bit sore this morning. We'll see how that goes as the day progresses.

The Groundhog is correct 39% of the time. Maybe less now. It won;t be too much longer before our own Bill Nye, the Science guy, begins warning us that 2018 is already the hottest year on record.

Just a little while ago, I had an idiot in front of me make a left turn, completely crossing the center line and then suddenly whipping around right in front of me. I was accelerating because the limit on the highway goes from 35 to 45 right at that intersection. Then the bloody god-damned fool went a quarter of a mile, turn right and started whipping into a U-turn. I thought the idiot was looking to be T-boned, but this time, I was too close behind him for him to complete his maneuver.

lol...

I saw a rubber ducky affixed to the snorkel on a 4x4 Nissan Frontier outside of Harbor Freight. It did not seem especially malevolent, however.

This belt is getting expensive at $8 per hole. A leather punch was the last thing I bought before my tools were stolen and I punched exactly one hole. I decided sometime after the punch was stolen that I probably should have punched a second hole. So now I'm in this belt $16 on top of the $3-4 I spent buying it in the first place.

This is probably too little too late, but a hammer, a block of wood, and a 16 penny nail make a decent leather punch...in a pinch.

Yeah, but I want an actual hole, as in a place where leather used to be, missing. An awl or a nail just makes a passage through the fibers by scrunching them to the side.

I'm not sure why but I don't like either of the holes that I punched with an actual rotating punch. The first one was kind of too small so I waddled it out bigger with a bigger punch and it didn't really work the second one I started with a bigger punch and somehow it's not right either.

My 40-year-old Tandy punch, if it ever turns up, did better work, looked better, and fit the hand more comfortably. Erps me to have bought the punch I don't like twice.

The funniest part is there is an awl-bored hole some 3 inches smaller. I had this belt back when I had slimmed down to runner-sized. That hole doesn't bother me.

The caveat to this is, I did this as a kid when I needed to alter existing tack to a different horse. Horses don't mind if the hole is perfectly punched or augured out. If the nail didn't give the desired result, I'd use a pocket knife as a leather augur, then oil it so it didn't look 'too' amateurish. As I said, it works in a pinch, but probably not the look a person would look for if paired with a corporate board room. :)
