Dear yanks, we have nut-jobs too... we don’t have high school shootings because they can’t get their hands on any gun, let alone a semi-automatic... as a result differences are settled with good old fashioned fights, which are occasionally serious but generally not... more often than not, there isn’t even a fight, cause frankly those things are a bit scary... so we just learn to let our rage simmer quietly and we grow up to be somewhat repressed adults...

Every single parent of a dead school child calls for tighter gun control.
I can't help but think it may take the shooting death of a sitting Presidents child for something to change.

I'm saying put some stringent safeguards in place - comprehensive background checks, registration of all firearms, limitations on the types of weapons available to purchase, that sort of thing.

But their presence in public can be curtailed. Be a regulated member of an official militia publicly bearing a licensed firearm in specified circumstances, fine. Keep all the firepower your lusts demand in your private acreage or basement armory. Hunt at allowed times and places with licensed weapons. But otherwise, carry a firearm in public and be punished as a rogue. Carry near a school and be hanged. That's not complex.
