President Trump defended two former White House staffers who have been accused of domestic abuse by their ex-wives, tweeting on Saturday morning that 'people's lives are being destroyed' by 'a mere allegation'.

'Peoples lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation. Some are true and some are false. Some are old and some are new.

'There is no recovery for someone falsely accused - life and career are gone. Is there no such thing any longer as Due Process?' he wrote.

The president's tweet was in reference to Rob Porter, the former White House Staff Secretary, who resigned this week after his two ex-wives came forward with claims of abuse and photographs of injuries.
Okay any Litster on here knows I'm all for due process rights and I don't believe the accusation is the proof, but if you aren't guilty you don't amass a fucking track record of abuse. And these beaters folded fast, too.

Conservatives don't even give a shit. If these guys admit to beating their wives no one on the Right will even care. We saw that with Roy Moore. That's the huge difference between these guys and the feminists on the Left - nothing matters to these degenerate fucks except "he's a loyal Republican so fuck every sense of human decency 5-ev4r."

It's like I said - Conservatives have no conscience.

Fallacy of applying the exception to the whole. It would be like noting the number of black entertainers and athletes who have struck a woman and then proclaiming that the black man is a wife beater by nature.

Wife-beating in particular and misogyny in general is a conservative social value. However, because of Identity Politics, it does not mean necessarily a Republican value. Plenty of people who absolutely hate Republicans also believe in slapping wives around. Many immigrants and their native-born children carry their conservative social values, especially in terms of gender, race, and sexuality, with them when they come here, and raise their children in that culture, often times in clusters of other members from the same country.
What bothers me is that wife-beating is attributed to only one group, while wife-beaters of another are inadvertently given a free pass out of fear of alienating them from the larger body politic.
Not all cultures are equal, and when one is just plain wrong, it needs to be called out for it, or the problem, any problem, will never end.

It depends of your definition of conservative. If we view it as a focus on traditional values and lifestyles, then yes, I would say that this statement is true. For a long time, wife beating was viewed as acceptable and endorsed practice.

The problem is that some people seem to think that conservative means anyone on the right side of the political spectrum, which isn't true.

Liberal men only beat women recreationally. Just ask DickDaily, or any of the board doms that hide abuse as sexual roleplay.

Another example would be you claiming "all progressives hate veterans" two days ago when a single progressive poster (BND) opined that US veterans had more benefits from the government than they needed.

Just another case of #SituationalRedManSpeaksWithForkedTongue

Now make sure you explain to us that when you or your tribe does that, that..That...THAT'S DIFFERENT!

Ya know I had started writing a post calling him out on that shit and changed my mind because what's the point. Plus the whole fake Marine thing sorta pisses me off.

Mybad. He only raped women. Sillyme!

So, whom did he rape? There was a thread about this guy dating girls who would have been considered underage in some states, but this was in AL, where they had reached the age of consent. There was even a reference to his making a pass at one of the girls, being turned down and accepting the rejection. This happened about 38 years ago, and it wasn't necessary back then to obtain a notarized consent form before fondling a woman's titties.

I'm thinking he has zero chance of winning.

Probably, but this is just one out of many Dems.

Are you seriously defending Roy Moore?

I think it's more that he's just stating facts rather than going off on a brainless lemming run to the sea.

I know it's hard for most GB players to wrap their tiny brains around, but there ARE places where things that are illegal or immoral in YOUR basement aren't illegal or immoral in someone elses.

and funny how NOW we hear NUTHING

just as funny how Porter worked for yrs fro Hatch in Senate and we heard nuthin and NOW we do

14 is not the age of consent in AL

Turns out Porter was gonna get a promotion even tho they knew about his past. That's nice.

Sad. Instead of saying "Trump was wrong" (or whomever), his supporters post links of other examples of wrong done by Democrats. Grow fucking balls. Abuse is wrong. Period. Not condemning the abuser is wrong. Period.

LJ, "conservative" is a misnomer. These rightists are just batshit crazy.

There is nothing "conservative" about them. They are hypocrites of the highest order.

They accept mediocrity, sexual perversions, and domestic abuse when it's THEIR GUY--usually a straight, white repug while at the same time, flinging fecal matter when someone 'else' exhibits the same behavior.

I don't expect much from them, with their righteous indignation.
