Yes it will.

Every single mass murder in history was committed by someone who lacked access to mental health care (and likely other opportunities). That's the common thread.

These aren't acts carried out by people who are mentally healthy, and with access to health and well-being.

It's nearly always sad guys who can't get a date, who are scorned by their peers, who are angry, feel alone, and feel that society owes them something. Basically: busybody.

However, society DOES owe them something. We owe them the chance to get better and to have a chance at a decent life, which they most people in the US dont' currently have, thanks to your god and master.

I listened to a lawyer who was advocating prevention through detecting people at risk.

The ones with certain psychotic illnesses are easy to detect and treat.
But what about those whose crimes aren't driven by mental illness, but rather by have no mental illness, but rather by self-absorption and lack of empathy?

He also had harsh words for the 'bystanders' who didn't report the shooters when they talked about guns and so on.

It's easy to put the pieces together in hindsight, but not at the time. And is society going to become a paranoid Orwellian one in which any weird or depressed- angry boy is going to be seen as a potential criminal?
Teenage years are tough enough for boys nowadays. More boys are failing than ever before and society shames any 'loser' who doesn't make it. Yet it doesn't offer them an alternative role model of masculinity to make them feel better about themselves.


I'd say focus on policies rather than just on the individual, just like in the opiate epidemic.
